I get passionate about how we qu**rs who work with qu**rs do our work, differently from what is considered normal.

(Text from images): What isn't spoken about enough is that when us qu**rs work with qu**rs, we often face similar challenges in our lives, as our clients face in theirs.

I know my Social Work degree taught me to not "over identify" with my clients. While I believe in the reasoning behind this, models like this are steeped in endo-cis-heteronormativity

When a trans femme person I work with talks about the glares they get going to the supermarket, I cannot escape that this is a similar reality for me too.

Normative ethics and supervision models would say that I need to distance myself from people like this. But I know that trans people often seek me out for therapy because I am trans.

As a Clinical Supervisor myself, I make space to embrace the nuance and complexity in these situations. I know that we need to do self care, and boundaries more deliberately as a result.

Part of this is looking at how structural inequity will effect is as trans people in similar ways, while trans people in caring roles are often left with all the burden of a broken, harmful system of oppression.

How we then respond becomes the art of my supervision sessions. How do YOU engage in vicarious resistance? How does YOUR body react to structural abandonment? How do you radically sustain your work with community?

Tone, of Tone Train Consulting (they/she) and Ren immersed themselves in q***r joy today at 's LGBTIQA+ Youth Leadership Forum in Djilang/Geelong. They spoke about q***r joy, necro-politics, collective care, storytelling, and whatever the hell the Octo-Spectrum of Q***r Delight™ is?!

We're so proud to announce that we have partnered with Tone Train and to run a super amazing storytelling workshop in Djilang/Geelong in June!

We'll be talking about sharing your story to the world in a way that honours and respects you, your community and your story.

We would like to officially welcome back to the Omni Insight team, Hannah! Hannah completely their Social Work placement with us a few weeks ago, and now we are so overjoyed to officially welcome them back as a contractor!

Hannah will be running our 1 on 1 workshops, and providing peer support!

What a big day! IDAHOBIT Shepparton today was absolutely amazing!

Tone called us to q***r action, showed us how to do q***r leadership in Local Government, and .wyc and showed us how amazing our q***r musicians are!

I was so proud of my community today and seeing qu**rs and our allies come along to stand against q***rphobia!

It was a joy today to speak to staff at City Council. Local Governments are leaders in and for our communities, and I'm so glad that Greater Shepparton are leaders in country Victoria for LGBTIQA+ communities.

And while I say they are leaders, I also let them know that they need to continue doing better.

Seeing IDAHOBIT flags at the Shepparton Showgrounds, at a time where other councils choose to remove books celebrating q***r families from libraries gives me hope.

An important part of working for q***r community, is advocating for q***r community.

As part of my role on local committees I work with others to advocate for change, big and small. This is one of these changes we advocated to council for, and they listened.

And we do need more than flags. We always need more than flags. But in the times we're living in, flags count for a fair bit, and we will continue advocating for more.

I've been nominated for a People's Choice Award?!

I have gone through a lot of feelings on this:

To be nominated for my courage in going about my life feels at once unfair, knowing the courage that all trans people muster up everyday, while also feeling honoured to have this struggle for power recognised.

To be in a short list of 5 q***r people, of all the qu**rs doing courageous things everyday feels at once daunting, confronting, and wrong.

As a genderq***r woman, my imposter syndrome is rather activated. And I remind myself to reframe Imposter Syndrome as Patriarchy Imposed Subjugation (or P*S for short!).

As a Neurodivergent woman; being spotlighted like this is slightly enthralling, and mostly terrifying.

And here I am promoting this nomination, and encouraging you to vote for me?!

And truth be told, I would love for you to vote in these awards (I love how Euphoria Social have constructed the nominations, and if you know me a little, I'm guessing you can guess which one I am!).

I would love you to vote for me; not because I think I'm better than my fellow nominees, but because I would love rural and regional trans people to see that we can have a future, we can live into our 30s, we can do good things in the world, and we can be recognised by our peers as doing good, courageous things in the world.

So consider this post a little bit more courage from me: the personal courage to accept, and promote my nomination for this award.
