Good old VH-WAD, back out the door after another periodic inspection. This was a big one, with 1000 hour airframe checks required.

Remember that oil filter with the metal flakes we posted a photo of a few days ago? After stripping the engine, these photos clearly show the problems. Each photo has further descriptions.

Another one out the door this morning. Thanks to Simon Collins for bringing in his RV6 for its annual inspection.

This is why we do 100 hourly/annual inspections. Unfortunately, for the customer, this oil filter contains a number of small metal flakes. A bad sign for the engine, which will need to be stripped and inspected. Nonetheless, much better to find this during scheduled maintenance than suffer an engine failure airborne.
Nice video featuring PA31-350 Chieftain VH-WAD, which we maintain. Looking forward to seeing it back again shortly for its next scheduled inspection.
