Of course its the buildings that create a proper sense of history at Belltrees. Judy White once wrote about the value of the value less. Heritage in the form of bricks and mortar create a value of their own especially when they are lived in and loved.

Horses are very much a part of Belltrees ; always have been. They brought pioneers to the Hunter Valley back in the early 1830s. They transported product and pushed livestock for over 100 years. They were raced by the White family in Melbourne cups and Victorian Derbies. They camp drafted, they show jumped, they cut cattle out and they played polo all over the world. From work to pleasure they provide a constant interest and passion to all who live on Belltrees.

In 1973 Michael and Judy White had a desire to build something special on top of Mt Woolooma. Something they could retreat to (possibly away from their 7 children ??!!) The result is amazing; even today. It commands an impressive seat atop a cliff face overlooking the Belltrees Valley below; from Lake Glenbawn to the South around to Barrington Tops to the North and as far west as the eye can see.
Judy wrote the Belltrees Book from there in 1981. It brought back special memories when she returned in July this year with Camilla and Peter.

The White Cottage. Built 1832. Quaint, cosy and comfortable. Winter at Belltrees is fresh and sometimes even cold with snow on the mountains. Great for a hike to the hills to take in the vista and open the lungs ready for a glass of red wine in front of the fire that evening.
