A little September blog teaser… ✨
It’s been a wonderfully productive day, starting with a workshop with the fantastic Meirav, my web designer. 💻🌿
Webby / WEB DESIGN
This afternoon, before heading into town to teach my evening classes, I decided to make a start on my September blog post.
This month’s topic is one I’ve been thinking about a lot: positive mindset and our relationship with movement.
I often notice students leaving a session feeling that they’ve made progress — not necessarily because they have mastered something new, but because they have developed a greater awareness of their own movement patterns, habits and those little “shortcuts” we can all take without realising it.
And perhaps that awareness is where the real progress begins.
The blog will explore ego, empathy, gratitude and perspective, and how we can shift our mindset from frustration and self-criticism towards curiosity, mindfulness and appreciation for what our bodies are capable of.
Because sometimes the most valuable thing we can practise on the mat isn’t doing more — it’s paying attention, being present and being grateful for the journey. 🌱
Oh… I think this is going to be a good one! 😊
Stay tuned — my September blog will be coming out in the next few days.

🔵My Tips for Recovery and Healthy Habits
I rarely cancel classes because I usually stay on top of my health. However, when nausea strikes, there is little you can do as a movement teacher to stay focusI if nauseous arrives & I tried herbal remedies such as licorice tea, but they didn’t help, so I had to cancel classes and head home early.
🟡My number one priority when recovering is sleep. If my body needs it, I’m happy to be in bed by 8 p.m. Quality sleep has been the most effective form of recovery for me.
🟣Here are my top tips for building healthy habits:
1. Prioritize Sleep
Despite the demands of modern life, adequate sleep remains essential for overall health, brain function, and emotional wellbeing. Most adults need seven to eight hours of sleep each night. If you regularly feel tired, foggy, or find yourself wanting to nap during the day, your body may be asking for more rest.
2. Choose Nutrient-Rich Foods
Include foods that support your health, such as avocado, walnuts for brain function, turmeric and ginger, ceremonial cacao, cinnamon for immune support, kefir for gut health, and a little cayenne pepper in your lunch or dinner.
3. Move Your Body Regularly
Exercise benefits both physical and mental health. Regular movement can reduce stress, ease anxiety, improve mood, and boost self-esteem. Even small amounts of activity make a difference.
The key is consistency, not intensity. Avoid jumping into an overly demanding routine, as this often leads to frustration and soreness.
4. Practice Gratitude
Gratitude can have a powerful impact on your mood, hope, and happiness. Start each day by acknowledging something you’re grateful for, whether while brushing your teeth or waiting for your morning alarm.
Throughout the day, look for positive moments, both big and small. It might be the support of a loved one or the satisfaction of achieving a goal.
5. Give Genuine Compliments
Research suggests that acts of kindness can increase feelings of satisfaction and wellbeing. Offering a sincere compliment is a simple way to brighten someone’s day while also lifting your own spirit
