Unfortunately, cutting structural roof trusses is never a DIY solution and can significantly compromise the roof’s structural integrity if not designed and approved correctly.
Just because it’s ‘common’ doesn’t mean it’s right. If you’re installing a fireplace, make sure any structural alterations are properly engineered and compliant—not just attacked with a saw.

An internal load-bearing wall has been removed without proper support installed. There is now no support carrying the roof load — which is not adequate or compliant. Being a concrete tiled roof this is a big concern and needs rectification without delay.
🔍 Risks:
• Poor load distribution
• Potential sagging or movement
• Increased risk of structural failure
🏠 Reminder: Removing load-bearing walls requires a permit, properly designed beam and supports — not DIY fixes.

Here is something I come across. The installation of fire places is tricky with the location of the flue but altering structural elements is a big no no!

Why its important to get licensed/qualified trades who know what they are doing, it may cost a little more at the time but the work is done correct the first time!
In this example, the beam is the load supporting element not metal supports and roofing screws 🤦 'try your best screw fix the rest'
