Today we celebrated Samoa Independence Day, a day to celebrate Samoa gaining its independence as a country. It is a day of cultural pride, historical reflection and national joy.

Our children had the opportunity to explore traditional dress, dance, important items such as a fan & axe, as well as helping to create and taste Panikeke. A huge thank you to Miss Sina and Miss Rose for sharing your beautiful culture.

On Wednesday a small group of our Kindy children travelled to Redcliffe Library to participate in National Simultaneous Storytime, sharing the story ‘Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller’. After the story our children had the opportunity to explore the many activities on offer at the library, building on their love of literacy and storytelling.

🌼 Community connections 🌼

Our children and educators have been working together to explore what reconciliation means to them. Placing their thoughts through words and drawings on hearts we welcomed another local Kindy into our service to share each other’s hearts.

Our hearts have helped to form the ‘Sea of Hearts’ at our community partner and as we continue to explore reconciliation this week we will create our own ‘Sea of Hearts’. We would love to involve our families and you will find hearts in the foyer for you to express what reconciliation means to you, either through words or drawings.

A huge congratulations to Miss Chloe P, her partner Nate and family on the safe arrival of their beautiful bubba girl, Hazel.

How lucky we are to have another gorgeous baby to ‘goo’ and ‘gah’ over 💝

This afternoon we celebrated our mum’s. Words will never describe the love a mother feels for her child. 🩷
Thank you to our Rothwell mums, for the beautiful conversations, the laughs and for trusting us with your greatest gift, your children. May you always know how special you are, even on the days when you barely recognise yourself, you are amazing!

A friendly reminder that the centre will be closed this Monday, 4th of May for the Labour Day Public Holiday.

We are all super excited to have ‘Henny Penny’ back at Rothwell. This program is a wonderful way of introducing our children to the concept of lifecycles and how to interact with other living things.

Sorry to our families during this time as your children absolutely love visiting the chickens during drop off and pick up which makes this process longer then usual🤪
