Sorry for the long silence, gang! Work, family & health stuff all been kicking me in the head and the last few months have been ordinary. HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who's kept the street library stocked and looked after while I've been MIA. It's now freshly cleaned and restocked with all kinds of goodies - food, tea & juice, kids' books, a couple of new cloth masks, and supermarket collecty thingies. Cheers!

‘unbound’ Book Club kicks off this Sunday with Series One, a curated list of literary works from a range of First Nations and African American authors.

Select one or more (or all!) of the books in the first series and, over the next three months, learnings will be shared from First Nations and Black poetry, philosophy, short stories, memoirs and fiction. Join Dr Melinda Mann, First Nations Arts Officer at Rockhampton Museum of Art each month for a facilitated discussion, offering participants the opportunity to come together for conversation and connection.

Series One includes:

• Dropbear – by Evelyn Araluen (poetry and prose)
• All About Love: New Visions – by bell hooks (philosophy)
• Flock: First Nations Stories then and Now – by Ellen van Neeren (short stories)
• Black and Blue: A Memoir of Racism and Resilience – by Veronica Gorrie (autobiography)
• Bila Yarrudhanggalangdhuray – by Anita Heiss (fiction)

Admission to all three monthly conversations for Series One is still available for $15.00 per person (advertised book sets are now sold out). However, you won’t need any of the books to register and attend the first monthly conversation this Sunday (and now you have the list, feel free to purchase your books from your favourite distributor!).

‘unbound’ is part of the Reimagining Representations project at Rockhampton Museum of Art.
