Sometimes when i am not doing comissions, i dont really know what to draw. I am actually not that creative. I draw my kids because my life revolves around them. And when the suggestion to draw something for an exhibition, i absolutely had no idea what to draw. So i drew my next fav subject... books.

I just realised recently that 3 out of 4 exhibitions that i had done with were books related 😅. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and happiness that they took me in and displayed these works for bigger audience that i wouldn't be able to otherwise reach on my own. Thanks for giving a platform for this introverted book worm doodler 💛🤪

I need new assistants...

In Fahrenheit 451, the author imagined a society where books are outlawed and curiosity is snuffed out. People were bombarded with sensations that substitute for thinking.  "You dont have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them" - Ray Bradbury.

There's no friendlier way to say this, we all getting dumber due to the doom scrolling, preferring fragments of contents and distraction over deep reading.

The president of the U.S has a grammar of a 5th grader, and his voters and all the ignorant individuals continue to be comfortable being uneducated with no critical thinking skills. My own country's vice president openly claimed he doesn't read books ( and yep... it's pretty obvious)
It is disheartening when you see people in leadership positions such as these.

Thats what inspired me to draw this... a book shop where it stands abandoned and undisturbed. The books were not burned, just no longer wanted because reading has lost its value. When reading stopped, so did the stories that give us compass we need to navigate reality, challenge our assumptions, build empathy and curiosity. 😢 i am not an influencer, but if i can encourage someone to pick up a book after seeing this drawing, I'd be so happy.

Who else is feeling the doom and gloom of the world right now? :( i recently read that the opposite of depression is not happiness, but expression. So lets all do that... express ourselves more through music or art, express our love ( and / or ) anger in a creative and healthy way. Because the world is a very sucky place right now and people sucks and the the leaders are a..holes ( except for Spain!) :)

World Book Day in the UK, apparently 📖

So here’s my illustrated wrap-up of our book club’s 12 reads last year — one book per month, chosen by each member. It forced me out of my comfort zone (in a good way). My wildcard favourite? The Scythe by Neal Shusterman. YA fantasy. Zero chance I would’ve picked it myself.

A good reminder that: "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.”

I saw this guy on the road tonight and it made me smile and thought i really need to draw him 😅.

i think Valentine's day is marketting gimmick but i def enjoy seeing all the love vibes.
