Been a long time since I posted some jobs we’ve completed for customers restoration projects.
In the mix we’ve got a XY Fairmont 9” restoration with billet 31 spline axles and a tru trac centre
A 1958 Chev Biscane 9” conversion
And a bunch of diffs from various cars as well as a XW GT Toploader
Always present the jobs to a high standard.
Everything is always cleaned and painted to avoid corrosion.
Diff housings done in 2 pak epoxy

If youve read this far post a pic of your car or project that we’ve done some work on.
Cheers

A lot of you probably don’t realise but we also do gearbox repairs and restoration.
Here’s a couple of top loaders that were recently completed.
Nicks been doing gearboxes for over 50 years so he knows a thing or 2 about them.
Here are before and after pics of one of the toploders done recently.
Thanks for looking

Here’s a couple of complete 9” builds we’ve recently finished in the shop.
Finned drum XY 31 spine 9” diff
STD drum brake XY 9”
HQ 1 Tonner 9” Willwood brakes

All built in house using OEM quality components that can be driven across the country and back however many times you like.
We can build diffs for daily driven, weekend warrior to mega tuff pro streeters,in most cases you don’t need to spend too much on over priced Strange parts, our proven packages that don’t carry the big brand price tags actually work with no compromises we’ve got you covered, there’s a place for everything,we’ve been building these combinations for a long time and I’ll only build what will survive.
We use Japanese bearings in every build and where we can OEM gears like Spicer and Italian lapped Motive gears for the 9” diffs
We carry all the above and in most cases it’s in stock.
We back our builds 100%
85 years on the tools between Nick and myself
Give us a call if you need some work done for your project and I will let you know what you need.

Hello everyone hope your all well.
As I’ve mentioned in the past I was going to do a preliminary assembly on the falcon to test the whole package and pull it down next year for panel and paint.
The time has finally arrived it’s running!
It’s been running perfectly and hasn’t skipped a beat so all the hard work in the preparation stage has paid off..
I’ve racked up over 500klm so far and it drives great.
All going well will do a test day at Heathcote or Calder to see how it goes down, not expecting to run impressive numbers as I’ll leave it on low boost for now.
For now I just need to keep putting the klm on it so I can see if there is any weak links.
Some pics I took today

Would not be possible without the help of

Andrew Preston Automatics

And my family for putting up with me 😊
If I’ve missed anyone I’ll sort it 😜
