RFID Enables Self-Service Unmanned Stores in Rural Finland 05/07/2023

RFID enables unmanned self-service stores in Finland called "Mini Smart", a 24/7 convenience store.

When shoppers arrive at the entrance, they first identify themselves using their credit or debit card, by tapping the card against a Nordic ID Sampo S2 Near Field Communication (NFC) reader to be identified. Once the card has been confirmed, the door automatically unlocks and they can enter. Approved shoppers can then go about selecting their purchases. Once they are finished shopping, they can place the tagged items on the counter at the point of sale.

RFID Enables Self-Service Unmanned Stores in Rural Finland Mini Smart Ahonkylä uses Nordic ID readers, as well as Confidex tags, to identify products stocked, purchased and removed from stores.

Let's get back to the basics. What is RFID?
Radio Frequency Identification is wireless touch-free technology that uses radio frequency waves to transfer data. RFID uses small radio frequency identification devices to automatically and uniquely identify and track people, assets, articles, animals, and vehicles and monitors their movements through portals.

• RFID technology automates data collection and vastly reduces human effort and error.
• RFID supports simultaneous multiple identification of tags, with no line-of-sight or item-by-item scans requirements, increasing efficiency.
• RFID is used across many industry sectors including institutions such as hospitals, care homes, and prisons; transportation and logistics; sports timing events; stock control, and animal tracking.
• RFID improves efficiency and safety by assisting with emergency evacuation and infection control.

RFID Poised for Big Tire Industry Rollout 08/06/2023

This is HUGE!

Tire manufacturers are piloting and deploying radio frequency identification (RFID) technology as part of a global initiative to track every individual tire from the point of manufacture to disposal.
The potential for the RFID market is significant if the expected transition occurs, and most tires already contain embedded RFID tags so that they can be uniquely identified.
The tire industry is currently rolling out millions of tires annually for the vehicles that transport people and freight, as well as those that conduct farming and construction work around the globe.
