On Merchant Navy Day, we remember the courage, service and sacrifice of Australian sailors who lost their lives at sea.
These brave Australians kept essential supply lines open during times of conflict, often on ships that were lightly defended and were constant targets of enemy attacks. Despite these risks, these sailors served as our lifeline in drastic times.
