Most dogs get bored especially sitting at home by themselves now that we have all finally gotten back to the "real world working" routine. On average they can spent anywhere from 3 - 8 hours (sometimes more 😢) alone!!

We need to help keep them occupied and busy while they spend time alone, which they also beneficial for them. Enrichment type toys can definitely help. Ditch the bowl this is lazy eating!! Make your dog's work for their food through chewing, play and puzzle solving. This helps to work their brain and body, which is turn makes for a happy puppy 🐶 ❤️

One of biggest issue dog owners have with their pups is Recall.

There are a couple of main pointers with recall:

1) Start small. Make it simple when teaching your pup. Don't try to do massive distances in public. Practice at home from 2 or 3m away.

2) Make it fun! Motivate your dog to want to come back to you. Use high value treats and toys. Moving backwards can help. Definitely try not to chase after them - they may think its a game to run away from you. Be excited to see them recall to you.

3) Always always reward. Never punish the dog once they come back. If you do, this can put a negative association with recall. Why would you want to run to someone who just yells at you?

4) Finally set them up to succeed, make it simple and work slowly to bigger distances and time frames. Take your time and practice everyday. Know your dog and how far to push them.

Lastly consistency is key. Recall must be mandatory and you must always follow through 👍🏼😊🐾🐾
