Rodent treatments, inspections and proofing.

With winter now upon us and the colder and wetter months ahead, rodents will be looking for refuge from the elements.

Your homes and businesses provide exactly what they're looking for.

As your heating will be being used on a more regular basis, it will provide warmth in areas like roof voids, subfloors and internal areas for rodents to escape the weather and potentially form new nesting sites or just shelter from the cold nights.

SILVERFISH

As we head towards winter, some people assume pests aren’t as common.

Standard pests like spiders, some external cockroaches might not be as much of a problem than in the warmer months but winter has its own challenges.

Pests such as rats, mice, ants, German cockroaches and fabric pests will still be problematic during the colder months.

Take today for instance, I went to do a rodent job and found silverfish within the property.

The reason for this is as we head towards the colder months, people start to put their heating on and the pests mentioned will gravitate towards properties because of this.

Ants will form nests in roof voids and wall cavities as will rats and mice to evade the colder and wetter months ahead.

Fabric pests and cockroaches love warmth and will breed normally during the colder months as heating is turned on.

RODENTS

Rodent activity is on the rise and will continue to rise once the colder and wetter weather arrives.

Your home or businesses will be very attractive to them as they’ll offer warmth and shelter from the winter weather.

Places like wall cavities (photo below shows mouse droppings in a clients wall cavity), roof voids and garages are the most at risk areas of any property and these areas will be the first to be affected by rodent activity.
