It’s been a hectic start to 2026 though it’s been lovely catching up with some of our earliest clients as we explore landscapes for their new property or upgrade their existing outdoor space.

BEFORE & AFTER

The client originally approached us at Pool Spa Life Expo with the dream of installing a pool. After meeting them on site, what was a more pressing priority was how much the growing family had become to loathe their existing backyard. The paving was abundant with ants nests and w**ds, the lawn had been dug up by their energetic dog and the extensive retaining took centre stage to an under utilised and neglected outdoor space.

Once site measures were taken and sketches developed we realised the large upper garden could be converted into a raised seating area/ seasonal fire-pit featuring a custom curved bench seat. This extends the yard’s capacity and entertaining potential while still future proofing the space for their desired plunge pool at a later date.

The unit paving has been upgraded to a w**d and pest free honed concrete, retaining walls have been softened with layers of shrubbery and trellis greenery, while the updated side path can now serve as secondary entry with its boardwalk approach framed with feature pots and kitchen herb garden.

Photos were taken before the forgiving synthetic turf was laid to serve the boys’ ongoing cricket Australia aspirations and pooch play.

After our final clean, The space was literally met with tears of joy and appreciation from the client… all under budget.

Was taking a final walk through after the lawn went down for this mammoth renovation project where every bit of the external realm was either renovated, refined or re-surfaced.
We realise that underwhelming spots previously in the garden have now become unique highlights.
These are the some of the captures that make us appreciate the curation and beauty of nature.

FINISHING TOUCHES

You know your onto a winner when the client is sharing multiple pictures of them enjoying their improved Alfresco and pool surround.

Alfresco extension includes new outdoor kitchen to better house their cooking appliances with ample bench space and storage.
Finished with Porcelain tiled floor and pool compliant splashback that piggybacks onto an outdoor shower.
Boundary fence now screened with castellation cladding plus a new aluminium planter to house the transplanted Frangipani providing more room to flourish while adding needed shade and greenery to the existing pool surround.

Site progress of the many structures (4x in total) that are being built as part of this major renovation to create greater shade, amenity and use for the various outdoor spaces in this large and varied level backyard.

The timber gabled patio will function as a pool-side cabana in short term featuring a semi enclosed outdoor ensuite, ready to all be converted into an enclosed and lined granny flat in future. The exposed rafters & framing link to the home’s federation heritage.

The attached flat roof pergola references the traditional timber pergola that previously stood - replaced by this sleeker steel brother, again soon to have translucent sheeting for all year round outdoor entertaining… retaining the northern light into the home.

The main feature of the terrace is the versatile Sundream pergola with its openable roof by .au featuring LED strip lighting & overhead heating, it caters for this large space under all weather conditions.

The open batten arbour is still to come.
