There’s a new floating boardwalk hiding in the wetlands of this peaceful lake in Perth 🥾
Located at Lake Goollelal in Kingsley, the new 380-metre walkway connects to the lake’s popular 4.5km walking and cycling loop 🚲
It winds through wetlands and paperbark forest, with two viewing platforms where you can stop and take in the scenery, and spot local birdlife 🦆
Keep an eye out for black ducks, egrets, frogs, oblong turtles and rakali – native water rats that call the lake home 🐢
The boardwalk has been designed for everyone, its pram and wheelchair-friendly with wide, flat paths and dogs are welcome on-lead.
Along the way, 16 laser-cut stencils showcase some of the bird species most commonly seen around the lake, making it a fun stroll for families and nature lovers.
Park at the Lake Goollelal car park off Woodlake Retreat road and follow the trail to your right to get to the boardwalk 🌳

By 1950, roadside assistance was starting to look a little different 👀Out went the motorcycles, and in came the Austin A40 vans.
With more space for tools and equipment, these vans gave Patrols greater capability and reach on the road.
A simple change, but one that made a big difference in how Patrols could support motorists.
