THIS WEEK ONLY | OFFER ENDS SUNDAY 8PM AWST

If you’ve got a teenager looking for their first job, now is the perfect time to get them started.

A strong first resume can make all the difference when applying for retail, fast food, hospitality, apprenticeships or casual work.

For this week only:

Teen First Resume – Just $30

Offer ends Sunday at 8:00pm AWST.

What’s included:
• Professionally written first resume
• Tailored to your teen’s skills, interests and goals
• A professional profile/summary that forms the foundation of a future cover letter
• Professionally formatted and ready to apply for jobs

Please note: This special does not include a cover letter.

As a mum myself, I know how exciting (and sometimes overwhelming) it is watching your teenager take that first step into the workforce. Many teens don’t have work experience yet—but that doesn’t mean they don’t have plenty to offer.

A great resume isn’t just a list of experience. It’s about showcasing potential, strengths, achievements, school, sport, volunteering and the qualities employers are looking for.

Whether they’re applying for their first casual job or hoping to secure an apprenticeship, I’ll help them put their best foot forward.

Send me a message to secure your spot before Sunday at 8:00pm AWST.

Perth based | Australia-wide service available

Feel free to tag a parent with a teenager looking for their first job. This special could be exactly what they need.

Is Your Teen Ready for Their First Job?

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is parents waiting until their teenager finishes school before thinking about employment.

The reality is that some of the most valuable skills employers look for aren’t learned in a classroom. They’re developed through part-time jobs, apprenticeships, volunteering, sport, and simply learning how to show up and be reliable.

If your teen is looking for their first job, here are a few things that can make a huge difference:

• A professional resume, even with little or no work experience
• A clear understanding of their strengths and interests
• Confidence introducing themselves to employers
• Basic workplace communication skills
• Willingness to learn and take feedback
• Showing initiative instead of waiting for opportunities to come to them

The job market is competitive right now. Many entry-level roles receive hundreds of applications, which means helping your teenager stand out early can give them a real advantage.

I’ve seen firsthand how much a young person’s confidence grows when they land that first interview or job offer. It’s often the start of something much bigger than just earning money.

As a mum of a teenager myself, I understand the challenges young people face when stepping into the workforce for the first time. Sometimes all they need is someone to help them present their skills and achievements in a way employers can see their potential.

If your teenager is ready to start applying for jobs, apprenticeships, traineeships, retail, hospitality or trade roles, I’d be happy to help.

LumenLift Consulting offers affordable Teen Resume Packages designed to help young job seekers take that first step with confidence.

What was your first job? I’d love to hear where your working life started.

The job market has changed dramatically over the last few years.

More Australians than ever are stepping outside their comfort zones and applying for roles they may never have considered before.

With the cost of living rising and household budgets stretched, people are actively pursuing better opportunities, higher-paying positions, greater flexibility, or even complete career changes in search of a better future for themselves and their families.

The result?

Competition is fierce.

It’s no longer uncommon to see hundreds of applications submitted for a single role.

One of the biggest mistakes I see job seekers make—particularly those changing careers—is focusing solely on previous job titles rather than the skills they’ve developed throughout their career.

Employers don’t just hire experience.

They hire capability.

Skills such as:

• Customer Service• Relationship Building• Team Leadership• Communication• Problem Solving• Time Management• Administration• Stakeholder Engagement• Training & Mentoring• Project Coordination

These are highly transferable skills that can open doors across multiple industries.

Your resume shouldn’t simply tell employers where you’ve worked. It should clearly demonstrate what value you can bring to their organisation.

If you’ve applied for 20, 50, or even 100 jobs without a response, it may not be your experience that’s holding you back.

It may be the way your experience and skills are being presented.

A great resume bridges the gap between where you’ve been and where you want to go.

That’s especially important when changing careers.

This is exactly what I help people do.

I work with job seekers to identify their transferable skills, position their experience strategically, and create resumes that give employers a clear reason to keep reading.

If you’re considering a career change, struggling to get interviews, or simply want a professional review of your resume, feel free to reach out.

Let’s have a conversation about how we can position you for your next opportunity.

Are you on LinkedIn yet?

Not because you’re looking for a job.

Not because you’re recruiting.

But because you’re looking to connect with real people.

I’ve noticed more and more people are moving beyond traditional job boards and networking differently. They’re building relationships, sharing experiences, asking questions, supporting each other and creating opportunities through genuine conversations.

Whether you’re a business owner, job seeker, recruiter, tradesperson, parent returning to work or someone considering a career change, there is value in being part of the conversation.

Some of the best opportunities don’t come from submitting another application.

They come from a message.

A comment.

A referral.

A connection.

A person who remembers your name when an opportunity comes up.

I’ve met some incredible people through LinkedIn over the past few months and it’s reminded me that behind every profile is someone trying to improve their situation, support their family, grow a business or take the next step in their career.

So I’m curious…

The job market right now is brutal.
People are applying for 50, 100, sometimes 200 jobs and hearing absolutely nothing back.

And honestly? A lot of good people are getting overlooked before a human even sees their resume.

After spending years working alongside employers, recruitment teams and job seekers, here are 5 things I see that genuinely help people stand out:

1. Stop writing a job description.
Most resumes tell me what someone was supposed to do.
Strong resumes tell me what they actually achieved.

Instead of:
“Answered phones and managed emails”

Try:
“Managed high-volume customer enquiries while supporting daily operations in a fast-paced office environment.”

2. Make the first half page count.
Recruiters skim resumes ridiculously fast. If your strongest experience is buried on page 3 like hidden treasure, we’ve got a problem.

Your top section should immediately show:
• What you do
• Your industry experience
• Your strengths
• Your licences/tickets if relevant

3. Tailor it slightly for the role.
I know. Nobody wants to rewrite resumes 47 times at midnight while questioning every life decision that led them to SEEK.

But even small changes matter.
Matching keywords, industry language and relevant skills can massively improve your chances.

4. Cut the fluff.
“Hardworking team player with excellent communication skills…”

Respectfully… everyone says that.

Show it instead through achievements, experience and results.

5. Formatting matters more than people think.
Huge paragraphs, five different fonts, bright colours, graphics everywhere, random text boxes… ATS systems and recruiters both hate chaos.

Clean. Simple. Easy to read.
That’s the sweet spot.

The hardest part for many people right now isn’t capability.
It’s positioning.

There are genuinely skilled people being overlooked every single day because their resume isn’t selling them properly.

And no — having gaps, changing careers, being older, being a parent returning to work, or coming from another industry does NOT automatically make you unemployable.

Sometimes it just needs a better strategy.

What’s been the hardest part of job searching lately for you?

29/05/2026

If someone told me they’d applied for 50 jobs and heard nothing back… these are the first things I’d ask before even touching their resume.

Not because I’m judging them.
Because honestly? The job market right now is rough and a lot of good people are getting overlooked.

But there’s usually a reason somewhere in the process.

I’d ask:

• What roles are you applying for?
• Are you tailoring your applications or sending the same resume everywhere?
• Is your resume easy to read or overloaded with paragraphs?
• Does your experience actually match the jobs you’re targeting?
• Are your tickets, licences and certifications easy to find?
• Does your resume look current to Australian standards?
• Are you applying through SEEK only or networking as well?
• Have you updated your LinkedIn?
• Are you underselling yourself?
• Are you applying for jobs you’re actually qualified for… or just panic applying to everything?

And one of the biggest questions:
When was the last time your resume was professionally updated?

Because sometimes it’s not your experience holding you back.
It’s the way your experience is being presented.

I’ve seen people with years of FIFO, trades, management and operational experience getting ignored purely because their resume was outdated, hard to follow, too generic or missing critical information recruiters look for quickly.

Your resume should make it easy for someone to understand:
• what you do
• where you’ve worked
• what industries you’ve worked in
• what you’re qualified for
• and why they should interview you

Not make them work to figure it out.

A lot of people are carrying incredible experience on paper that simply isn’t positioned properly.

That’s where I come in.

At LumenLift Consulting, I help job seekers professionally position themselves for the roles they actually want — whether that’s FIFO, trades, administration, professional roles, career changes or getting back into the workforce after time away.

Sometimes a few strategic changes can completely shift the response you start getting.

I’m opening up 4 spots this week and I want to fill them with people who are ready.
Not “almost ready.”
Not “I’lI do it when things calm down.”
Ready ready.
Because here’s the thing nobody tells you when you’re applying for jobs and hearing nothing back -
It’s probably not you.
It’s your resume.
And I don’t mean that to sting. I mean it because it’s actually really good news. Because a resume? That’s fixable. Fast.
I’ve helped FIFO workers, tradies, mums returning to work, school leavers, career changers, hospitality workers, retail statt - you name it - go from invisible to interview-ready with a resume that actually works for them.
Not a template. Not a copy-paste job. A resume written by someone who actually takes the time to understand who you are, what you’ve done, and where you’re trying to go - and then puts it into words you probably wouldn’t have thought to use yourself.
Here’s what’s included:
• Professionally written, ATS-optimised resume
• Cover letter
• Keyword strategy so recruiters actually find you
Fast turnaround - because you’ve already waited long
enough
4 spots. First in, first served.
If you’ve been putting it off - this is your sign to stop waiting and start getting callbacks.
Drop RESUME in the comments or send me a DM and let’s get moving.
