🎉 WE DID IT! WE’RE OFFICIALLY APPROVED! 🎉

After an incredibly long and challenging journey, we’re so excited to finally share that Macri’s Fruit Shed has officially been granted approval by the City of Swan! 🍎🍊🥳

This has been a battle that tested us in more ways than we ever imagined, but today we can finally celebrate. We are so grateful that we’ll be able to continue doing what we love - serving our amazing community with fresh local produce and supporting local growers.

To every single person who stood beside us along the way, whether you signed our petition, shared our story, left encouraging messages, contacted councillors, spoke up on our behalf, or simply continued to support our little family business… thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

A very special thank you goes to Michael Clare from Forge Planning. After such an uphill battle, Michael took on our application, guided us through the process with professionalism, determination and expertise, and ultimately submitted the application that led to this successful outcome. We cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone looking for a planning consultant. We’ve been a little quiet on here lately as there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes, but we wanted to give the community an update on where things currently stand.

First of all, thank you…truly. The support we’ve received has been incredible. Whether you’ve popped in for a chat, shared ideas, recommended people for us to speak with, signed or shared our petition, or reached out to others on our behalf, it has all made a difference, and we’re so grateful to be part of such a supportive community.

What started as a bit of a last-ditch effort to get some advice and guidance from the community quickly grew into something much bigger than we expected. With that exposure came an amazing opportunity, and we were incredibly fortunate to be approached by Michael Clare from forgeplanning, who has generously offered his time and expertise to help us by submitting a new application on a pro bono basis.

Michael, thank you for your support, your time, and for even coming out to visit us on top of your already busy workload. We truly appreciate it.

With his help, we now have a new application underway with the City of Swan 🙌🏼🤞🏼

Now isn’t the time to lose momentum, it’s the time to keep rallying and showing just how much this shop means to our community. We’re determined to see this through and get this application over the line.

We’ve also had quite a few people asking about a community meeting. At this stage, we’re feeling hopeful about the progress of the new application and are looking forward to working constructively with the Shire. However, if things don’t move forward as hoped, we will absolutely look at bringing the community together to show just how important this shop is to everyone.
