Perth Bowling Club

🍺 MEET THE MEMBERS | SAY G’DAY TO BRAD! 🍺

Meet Brad, one of our Club Bowlers and a familiar face around the Perth Bowling & Recreation Club! 👋

Brad joined the club in 2020, initially enjoying bowls socially before making the move into Pennant and Club Championship competition.

When he’s not on the green, Brad loves catching up with the guys over a few b**rs or enjoying a Friday arvo at the club with his lovely partner, Sue-Anne. 🍻

Brad is also a big help with our corporate functions and regularly lends a hand out on the greens, showing our guests how to get a bowl heading in the right direction! 😄

🍺 Member Type: Club Bowler
🍺 Favourite Club Drink: Great Northern
🌯 Favourite Club Meal: Chicken Wrap

Thanks for being such a great part of the club, Brad. Be sure to say g’day next time you see him around!

🏆 FOOTY TIPPING WINNERS! 🏆

There may have been a few disappointed Freo supporters at our AFL Grand Final function 😭💜… but at least three people went home smiling! 💰😂

Our 2026 Perth Bowling Club Footy Tipping winners were announced at half time:

🥇 Brian – 1st Place – $500
🥈 Stan – 2nd Place – $250
🥉 Mel – 3rd Place – $150

Congratulations to Brian, Stan and Mel on successfully proving that picking AFL winners is apparently easier than being a Fremantle supporter! 😜

Thanks to everyone who joined the tipping competition this year and helped make it another great season of friendly rivalry, questionable selections and Monday-morning excuses.

Enjoy the winnings — and to our Freo faithful… there’s always next year! 💜⚓

👏 A special thank you to Peter & Jill French

It was great to last night recognise Peter and Jill French with a gift in appreciation of the enormous contribution they have made to the Perth Bowling & Recreation Club over many years.

Peter recently stepped down as Club President after helping guide the Club through a remarkable period of growth and improvement — from stronger membership and finances to major facility upgrades, a thriving functions program and securing the Club’s long-term future in East Perth.

His contribution was also recognised across the sport when he was named Bowls WA Club Volunteer of the Year 2025–26. 🏆

And behind every great club volunteer there is often someone providing plenty of support along the way — so it was only fitting that Jill was recognised too!

Thankfully, Peter isn’t disappearing. You’ll still find him around the Club looking after the greens, usually with his trusty sidekick Indi close by. 🐾

Thank you Peter and Jill — from everyone at Perth Bowling Club! 💙

THANKS FOR A GREAT DAY, WESTRALIAN APARTMENTS! 🙌

A big thank you to everyone from Westralian Apartments, especially organiser who joined us at the Perth Bowling Club on Saturday for a fantastic afternoon of social bowls! 💙💛

There was plenty of friendly competition, lots of laughs and, most importantly, a great atmosphere out on the green.

We loved having you at the Club and hope everyone enjoyed the chance to relax, have some fun and test their skills on the bowls green.

Thanks for choosing Perth Bowling Club for your social day — we look forward to welcoming you back again!

📍 Perth Bowling Club – great people, great times and a great place to get together.

💛 Connection, conversation and community at Perth Bowling Club

We were delighted to welcome members of Western Australia Police Force to the Perth Bowling Club for a social event held as part of their R U OK? Day activities.

The afternoon provided an opportunity to step away from the everyday routine, enjoy some social bowls and drinks, connect with colleagues and, importantly, reinforce the value of checking in with the people around us.

R U OK? Day is a valuable reminder that a simple conversation can make a real difference — and sometimes the best conversations happen in relaxed, welcoming environments.

It was fantastic to see the greens being used not just for bowls, but as a place to bring people together, strengthen connections and support wellbeing.

Thank you to WA Police for choosing Perth Bowling Club for the occasion. We were proud to play a small part in such a worthwhile initiative.

💛 Ask R U OK? Any day.
