National Wellness Month — the perfect reminder to prioritise your wellbeing and create healthy habits that help you feel like your best self.
During the colder months in Australia, our health needs naturally change. With reduced sunlight, shorter days and less physical activity, many of us notice lower energy levels, reduced motivation and changes in mood. Winter can affect serotonin production and leave us feeling tired, sluggish or disconnected from ourselves.
The good news is that small, consistent habits can make a big difference. Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated—it starts with looking after the basics and making time for yourself.
Here are a few healthy habits to focus on this month:
• Eat nourishing whole foods and include plenty of seasonal vegetables and fruit
• Stay hydrated, even when you don’t feel thirsty
• Move your body daily with a walk, yoga, stretching or strength exercise
• Get outside in natural daylight whenever possible
• Prioritise quality sleep and a consistent bedtime routine
• Reduce stress through mindfulness, meditation, breathwork or journalling
• Limit excess sugar, alcohol and highly processed foods
• Connect with family, friends and your community
• Support your immune system with nutrient-rich foods and regular self-care
• Book time for restorative treatments such as reflexology or Ayurvedic therapies to help relax the nervous system and rebalance the body
This August, give yourself permission to slow down, recharge and build routines that support your health from the inside out. Your wellbeing is an investment that benefits every part of your life.

July is a month that reminds us to slow down, stay warm, and prioritise our health. 💙❄️
Winter in Australia brings shorter days, cooler temperatures, and an increase in colds, influenza, respiratory viruses, and other seasonal illnesses. It’s the perfect time to support your immune system, nourish your body, and take a little extra care of your physical and mental wellbeing.
July is also filled with important health awareness campaigns that encourage us to make positive choices:
💙 National Diabetes Week – raising awareness about prevention, early detection, and living well with diabetes.
💛 National Pain Week – shining a light on the millions of Australians living with chronic pain.
🍋 Dry July – inspiring people to go alcohol-free while raising funds for cancer support services.
🌏 Plastic Free July – reminding us that caring for our planet also supports healthier communities and a healthier future.
Small daily habits can make a big difference—staying active, eating nourishing foods, getting enough rest, managing stress, and seeking support when you need it.
Treatments such as Reflexology and Ayurvedic therapies can also help you reconnect with your body, encourage relaxation, reduce stress, and support your overall wellbeing during the colder months.
This July, let winter be a reminder to be kind to yourself, look after your health, and embrace simple habits that help you feel your best. 💙

Many people are unaware that reflexology is generally considered a safe complementary therapy for people living with cancer and those undergoing treatment. Reflexology can help promote deep relaxation and support overall wellbeing during what can be a physically and emotionally challenging time.
Potential benefits of reflexology for people receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy may include:
• Reduced stress and anxiety
• Improved relaxation
• Pain relief and increased comfort
• Reduced nausea and treatment-related discomfort
• Better sleep quality
• Reduced fatigue and improved energy levels
• Enhanced emotional wellbeing
• Improved quality of life
• A greater sense of balance and calm
As with any complementary therapy, it is always recommended to discuss reflexology with your doctor or healthcare team if you have any concerns or specific health considerations.

What an incredible achievement! 💛☕️
Last month, communities across Australia came together for the Biggest Morning Tea, raising an amazing over $3.96 million through more than 19,000 community events and individual fundraisers. Every cup of tea shared, every conversation had, and every donation made helps provide vital support, research, prevention programs, and care for people impacted by cancer.
Cancer touches so many lives. Most of us know someone—a family member, friend, neighbour, or colleague—who has been affected. By coming together, we remind those facing cancer that they are not alone.
Thank you to everyone who hosted, attended, donated, or simply helped spread awareness. And a Big Thank You to Sue from Suivness Embodied Health, for bringing everyone together for gentle yoga and meditation in Sorrento. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference.
At Perth Reflexology, we’re proud to support health, wellbeing, and relaxation for our community. Reflexology is a gentle, complementary therapy that can help promote relaxation and wellbeing for people living with cancer and those undergoing treatment, working alongside their medical care.
Together, we can continue to raise awareness, offer support, and bring hope to those who need it most. 💛

June - Let’s get ready for winter!
This month is a great reminder to strengthen our immune system, nourish our body, and prioritise self-care. Reflexology, Ayurvedic treatments, quality sleep, healthy nutrition, and stress management can all help support the body through the winter months.
With winter also comes an increased risk of colds, flu, and seasonal viruses. The elderly, young children, and those with compromised immune systems can be more vulnerable during this time, making it even more important to focus on supporting our health and wellbeing.
June is also home to Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, a wonderful community event raising vital funds to support people impacted by cancer. Every cup of tea, conversation and donation helps make a difference.
you can also make an impact this month by just being there for someone, or joining them for a cup of tea and a chat!
Let’s embrace the season by taking care of ourselves, supporting others, and making our health a priority this winter.

Wellness isn’t a trend… it’s a timeless investment in yourself. ✨
Prioritising self care, nourishing your body, slowing down and making your health a lifestyle choice is one of the most empowering things we can do for ourselves. True wellness is about balance, consistency and listening to what our body needs through every season of life.
As we get older, our body changes and our needs change too. As we move into the colder winter months, we often notice changes in our sleep patterns, energy levels, skin health, eating habits and motivation to exercise. Winter can leave us feeling tired, sluggish, dehydrated and out of balance if we don’t take the time to nurture ourselves.
Small daily habits can make a huge difference to our health and wellbeing. 💛
Ways to support your health and wellness this winter:
• Keep moving and exercising regularly
• Stretch and improve flexibility
• Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated
• Nourish your body with healthy warming foods
• Prioritise quality sleep and rest
• Support your immune system
• Take time to slow down and manage stress
• Support circulation and lymphatic flow
• Look after your skin health during the colder weather
• Practice mindfulness and relaxation
• Create balance for your mind, body and spirit
• Have regular Reflexology treatments to restore balance and relaxation
• Enjoy Ayurvedic facials for natural face lifting and rejuvenation
• Use Gua Sha techniques to support circulation, tension release and glowing skin
• Use natural skin care products like Eniko Skin Care to nourish and protect your skin naturally
• Make time for yourself without guilt
Your health is your greatest investment — and every small act of self care matters. 🌿

Stress can have such a powerful impact on our body, mind and overall wellbeing, yet sometimes we don’t even recognise it as stress. We become so used to being busy, rushing from one thing to the next, adapting to the pressures of life and putting everyone else first, that we simply keep going. Over time we can start to feel like a cog in a chain, functioning on autopilot and forgetting to slow down and care for ourselves.
Our body is always communicating with us, but when we ignore the signs for too long, stress can build quietly beneath the surface and begin to affect our health in many ways. What may start as tiredness, tension, poor sleep or feeling overwhelmed can eventually turn into long term health concerns that impact both our physical and emotional wellbeing.
The month of May is the perfect opportunity to pause, listen to our body and become more aware of our health needs. Taking time for yourself is not a luxury, it is an important part of protecting your health and restoring balance to your body and mind. Reflexology, Ayurvedic treatments, relaxation and self care can all help support the body during times of stress and bring us back to a place of calm and balance.
Signs and health conditions linked to ongoing stress can include:
• Fatigue and exhaustion
• Anxiety and overwhelm
• Poor sleep and insomnia
• Headaches and migraines
• Muscle tension and body aches
• Neck, shoulder and jaw tension
• Digestive issues and bloating
• IBS and gut health problems
• Hormonal imbalances
• Weakened immune system
• High blood pressure
• Heart health concerns
• Brain fog and poor concentration
• Mood swings and irritability
• Burnout
• Depression and low motivation
• Skin conditions such as acne, eczema and dryness
• Hair thinning and hair loss
• Emotional eating or loss of appetite
• Weight gain or weight loss
• Chronic inflammation
• Low energy and adrenal fatigue
• Reduced self confidence and emotional wellbeing
Your health matters. Slowing down, resting and making time for yourself is one of the most important investments you can make for your body, mind and future wellbeing. Always remember: Your Health is your Wealth!
