Looking forward to the future…we know it may be a while before international travel resumes at a rate to enable University student groups to go on placement. But that has not stopped us helping University partners with their 2021/22 New Colombo Plan applications, researching and submitting programs for a new destination (Think Pacific Islands – hint hint!), keeping in touch with our in-country partners and we are remaining positive and making progress on our social enterprise each and every day. The future looks bright! 🌍 ☀️ 🌎

The best is yet to come! Our new website is coming soon, over the past few months we have been developing a new website to showcase our clinical health programs, community internships and destinations. It has been so fun drafting content, selecting images students took themselves, reminiscing about experiences and seeing all the community projects that were undertaken thanks to fundraising efforts. So stay tuned as you’ll be the first to see it!

As much as the facts are hard to hear we hope this speech inspires you to keep motivated and extend yourselves in your studies/careers and personal lives to help create positive change! 👊

A big congratulations is in order as the Shanghai Ranking declares Griffith University Nursing and Midwifery AUSTRALIA’S BEST and number 2 GLOBALLY! Griffith President and Vice Chancellor Professor Carolyn Evans highlighted how “It gives me great pleasure to be able to say we are truly the best Australian university in these disciplines and that the nurses and midwives we produce are some of best in the world…Nurses have never been more at the forefront of our global communities, as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is felt around the world and especially as the WHO has declared 2020 to be the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife…There will always be demand for nurses and midwives and Griffith is producing the very best of them.” Students love the program too, Renee Flynn who completed our placement in Vietnam views Griffith as a career focussed University course “It is comforting knowing I have had some of the best training and that I am well prepared to enter the workforce.” We are proud to be the major third-party provider for Griffith Nursing international clinical placement programs and look forward to working with Griffith academics and student groups when international placements re-commence! Health Education: All of our programs involve students preparing and delivering health education programs to local school and community groups. Topics range from oral hygiene, prenatal, hand hygiene to Days for Girls and Days for Boys sessions that always result in some giggles of embarrassment amongst school children who are learning about their bodies! What was your favourite memory from running health education sessions?
