is a community based organisation that serves the needs of young children (aged 7-16) and their families who are often overlooked by other services. Edmund Rice Camps for Kids WA (ERCKWA) provides respite,recreational and developmental programs for children who would not otherwise have such opportunities, supporting children ‘at risk’ or experiencing some form of disadvantage. Referrals are made t

o ERCKWA by a variety of agencies that identify disadvantaged children (due to financial cultural, social, behavioural or emotional circumstances) and work with ERCKWA to provide the children and families with some respite. Given the nature of the service provided, the children that attend the program come from all areas of Perth and a wide variety of cultural and religious backgrounds. For those who cannot make it to a Perth based camp, our Eddie on the Road Programme delivers a regional service and experience for children in need. ERCKWA also promotes and encourages the development of young adult volunteer leaders. A typical 5day program sees about 25 kids living, working and playing along side about 25 volunteer leaders. The role of a leader on these camps is more than purely recreation; leaders need to serve as a friend and mentor to the young people. These programs offer the young adult volunteer leaders the experience of serving more vulnerable members of the community, as well as the opportunity to develop confidence and skills as a leader with the opportunity to grow in empathy and have a broader social understanding and awareness. ERCKWA receives NO government funding. We rely on funds raised solely through one-off grants, sponsorship and fundraising in order to run the not-for-profit camps and activities. We are so excited to announce that Thriive WA has found a new home at Aquinas College 💛🧡🩷

Thriive has shared a special relationship with since inception, so we were incredibly grateful when the College offered to house our team following our move from Westcourt.

This new chapter has brought renewed energy and connection with Aquinas and with all of the schools and communities who continue to support our mission: helping WA thriive, one child at a time.

We already love the warmth of the campus, the beautiful surroundings, the sound of students playing nearby, and the inspiring blend of history and innovation.

To say we are thrilled to be here would be an understatement!! A special thank you to the Aquinas Principal, Jen Knox and Director of Christian Service Learning, Travis Leggett who joined Meg, Laura and Petula for this photo!

Luminous 2026 will showcase all the great things Thriive has achieved in the last 12 months while acknowledging our supporters and our amazing volunteers who make this all possible. Hosted by our captivating ambassador Kymba Cahill from the Mix94.5 and the HIIT Network Pete and Kymba show, featuring a live performance by Gisella Colletti, a live auction run by the entertaining Tiny Holly and of course a 3 course dinner and drinks package supported by Telethon Community Cinemas all enjoyed before we dance the night away to Perth's most exciting 6 piece band Switch! It's going to be an incredible night!

Day 9 of 12 and what an incredible journey it’s been so far!

Our 14 Thriive Leaders are bringing the energy across remote WA as part of the April 2026 Remote Communities Program (RCP). 12 day programs run so far, a lot of happy kids and some 💛🩷💛

At Thriive we are fortunate to meet some of WA's most generous and kind people.

Wilf Sonntag, the Chairman of the Charity Committee is one of these people. Thanks to Wilf and his committee, we’re able to offer over 100 places for children to attend our camps.
