Last week I shared how my youngest, Miss N, gets anxious at the dentist.
This throwback from 2021 shows how we turned nerves into fun – by making her the assistant for her big sister Miss A’s check-up!

Mask on, gloves ready, suction in hand… she was in her element.
It’s little moments like these that help kids feel comfortable in the chair.

Throwback to 2021 – when my own girls came in for their dental check-ups at Butler Dental 🦷💜

That’s my youngest, Miss N, in the chair. She’s always been a very anxious patient — and that’s okay. Some kids just are. It’s not about doing anything wrong, it’s just how they’re wired.

We started her dental visits early — her first check-up was at 12 months. From the start, it was never about treatment. Just sitting in the chair, counting teeth, and making sure everything was healthy.

These early exposures have made such a difference. She still doesn’t love the noises, but she knows what to expect now. We’ve built trust over time — gently and consistently.

As both a mum and a dentist, I know how hard it can be with anxious little ones — but early, positive dental experiences really do set them up for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

👶✨ Farewell for Now, Monica! ✨👶

Our lovely nurse Monica has officially started her maternity leave, and while we’re going to miss her deeply at Butler Dental, we’re so excited for what’s ahead — the arrival of her beautiful baby boy! 💙

Monica’s calm nature, warm smile, and unmistakable Spanish accent have brought so much heart and harmony to our team. She’s been an incredible support to both our patients and clinicians, and her presence in the practice will be truly missed.

We can’t wait to meet her little bundle of joy and look forward to welcoming her back into the BD family when the time is right.

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team — Dr. Natasha Proud!

Born and raised in Perth, Dr. Natasha completed her Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) and Doctor of Dental Medicine with Distinction from the University of Western Australia.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is especially passionate about creating a comfortable, friendly space where patients feel truly at ease. Her approach is grounded in building trust, open communication, and providing personalised care to every patient she meets.

Dr. Natasha is a proud member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a strong believer in lifelong learning, regularly engaging in continued professional development to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find her soaking up the coastal lifestyle — whether it’s catching up with friends on a beach walk or enjoying a swim in the ocean. 🏖️
