We are a boutique hair salon established in East Victoria Park, looking for an experienced and reliable hairdresser to work full-time, including weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, colouring, and styling hair, and massaging and treating scalp.

Analyse patrons' hair and other physical features to determine and recommend beauty treatment or suggest hair styles.
Demonstrate and sell hair care products and cosmetics.
Shampoo, rinse, condition and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces with water, liquid soap, or other solutions.
Schedule client appointments.
Cut, trim and shape hair or hairpieces, based on customers' instructions, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors.
Apply water, setting, straightening or waving solutions to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs and curling irons to press and curl hair.
Keep work stations clean and sanitize tools such as scissors and combs.
Comb, brush, and spray hair or wigs to set style.
Develop new styles and techniques.
Bleach, dye, or tint hair, using applicator or brush.
Operate cash registers to receive payments from patrons.
Update and maintain customer information records, such as beauty services provided.
Administer therapeutic medication and advise patron to seek medical treatment for chronic or contagious scalp conditions.
Massage and treat scalp for hygienic and remedial purposes, using hands, fingers, or vibrating equipment.

Able to work under pressure
Good hand-eye coordination

Some creative flair
Attention to detail
Able and willing to follow instructions.
Able to work with dogs (we have dogs in the premises)

Qualification and Experience

More than 5 years of hairdressing experience
Must have formal qualification and training
Extensive experience in Asian hairdressing is highly preferred

Visa Conditions

You must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident to apply
You must be able to work full-time;


Remuneration will be between $45,000 to $55,000 plus super

Dear customers,

Due to many of our customers not having access to disposable face masks, we will be making sure that appointments will be spaced out so there wont be any physical contacts between customers.

We ask customers to please keep to the appointment times as we are trying to minimise contact.

We are still disinfecting all equipements and furnitures after each use and staff will still be wearing face masks.

This will allow us to ensure the safety of our staff and customers and to continue business in the safest manner possible

Dear customers,

With the government announcement last night, and again this morning, we would like to outline few non-negotiable expectations that apply to all staff at Stylex hair salon.

1. Actively maintain the sanitisation of the workers for the protection of each other and customers.

2. Sanitise all equipments and furnitures after use each time.

3. Wont be able to offer any food/beverages from Stylex

4. Social distancing wont be much applicable to us so we urge customers and all staff to wear masks.

5. No personal contacts in the workplace, including hugging, handshakes or any other physical contacts.

Abiding these rules will allow us to be safer from the virus and to remain open for business for our customers in the meantime.
