we celebrated Jeans for Genes Day, learning about how the day raises awareness and supports children and families affected by genetic conditions. Children expressed their creativity by designing and decorating their own paper jeans using a variety of colours, patterns and shapes.
We also focused on dental health, exploring the importance of caring for our teeth through role-play, discussions and hands-on experiences. Children practised correct tooth-brushing techniques using a timer, learned about foods that help keep teeth healthy, and created healthy fruit kebabs while counting the pieces of fruit. They also enjoyed a fun activity cleaning “cavities” from laminated teeth with toothbrushes, reinforcing the importance of good oral hygiene while developing fine motor skills.
It was a day of meaningful learning, creativity and healthy habits.

🍃 Exploring Djilba 🌼
This week, we learnt about the Noongar season Djilba and the changes it brings to weather, plants, and wildlife. It was wonderful to see children making connections to Kambarang, remembering the Jacaranda trees from last year.
As part of our nature learning, we explored Geraldton wax flowers, discovering their five petals before creating beautiful still-life paintings inspired by their colours and details. Through this experience, the children deepened their understanding of Djilba and the natural world around them.

As a not‑for‑profit, every dollar we earn is reinvested to improve outcomes – from high‑quality learning and educator development to extra support for children who need it most.

Safe sleep is an important part of keeping our children healthy and safe. Our educators follow safe sleep guidelines, including placing babies on their backs to sleep, maintaining a safe sleep environment, and conducting regular sleep checks.
By working closely with families and following best-practice recommendations, we help ensure every child can rest safely and comfortably while in our care.
Why wait until December 25 when we can celebrate Christmas in July? 🎄❄️
The children had a wonderful time getting into the festive spirit as they celebrated Christmas in July. They enjoyed creating beautiful artwork through bauble painting and had lots of fun using tinsel star photo props to capture some special memories.
There were plenty of smiles, creativity, and excitement throughout the day as the children embraced the joy and magic of this mid-year Christmas celebration. 🎅⭐

National Pyjama Day Success! 💙
On Friday 24 July, we celebrated National Pyjama Day, and we are incredibly proud to share that Goodstart centres across Australia have raised more than $17,000 to support children in foster care.
A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful families who brought their children to care dressed in their pyjamas and generously donated to this worthy cause. Your kindness and support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who need it most.
Together, we are helping to create brighter futures for children in foster care. Thank you for being part of such a fantastic community initiative! 🌟💙
