For us, using a solid edge decking board to cap our castellation feature cladding is standard practice.

Rather than finishing with a traditional L shaped angle, we set the solid edge board approximately 10mm proud of the cladding, creating a clean shadow line and a premium architectural finish.

The capping board is installed first, allowing the cladding to finish neatly underneath and giving the entire feature a sharp, considered edge.

It’s a small detail but these 1% details are what separate a good job from a great one.

One of the latest additions to our toolkit is the Wuko Uni Bender, a specialised roof plumbing tool that allows us to create precise folds and weathered seams in our flashings.

Here, Liam is using the Uni Bender to form a fold in one of our top flashings. This creates a weathered edge that folds neatly over the upstand rib, helping direct water away from vulnerable areas and reducing the risk of water ingress.

Is it the only way to install a patios? No.

But it’s these extra steps, attention to detail, and quality installation methods that separate an average build from a premium one.

Byford Roof sheet install day!

A not so simple task to install 6m long 75 millimeter thick insulated roof sheets. But with the right knowledge, skill set and team we made this a walk in the park!

You may have noticed a few new faces on site recently.

We’ve partnered with local training organisations and high schools to provide Year 11, Year 12, and pre apprenticeship students with hands on experience in the carpentry trade.

Through day release and block release programs, we currently welcome two students on site each week.

It’s been a great addition to the team. Their enthusiasm brings positive energy to every project, while giving them valuable insight into the realities of the trade.

For us, this is about more than building premium outdoor living spaces. It’s about developing the next generation of skilled carpenters, sharing knowledge, maintaining high standards, and creating pathways into rewarding careers.

The future of our industry relies on investing in the next generation, and we’re proud to play a small part in that journey.
