While trying to fix a couple of things on the website I just came upon this: Turns out this portrait from 20 years ago is part of a 30 year retrospective (curated from award shows over the years) currently on show in a Brisbane gallery. I was living in Sydney at the time.

I was just going through my archive looking for portrait samples when I came upon this one of Aislinn Andrews. It occurred to me that, last month marked the 4th anniversary of her passing. For those who didn't know Aisliin, she was a great girl, a talented copywriter who was taken far too young; breast cancer claimed her life at just 30. For those who do remember Aislinn, and her vivacious personality and cheeky grin - I thought you'd appreciate the reminder. For more information on Aislinn's legacy, check out http://www.aislinnandrewscancerlegacy.org.au/

This is Scarlett holding a picture of the grandfather she's never seen. That's my old dad in the picture, and I took it back in 1990. He passed away 10 years later. Had he still been with us he would have been 90 today. He was a lovely old bloke.

Early this year I photographed Jane Lowther (Kucka). Later in the year Laura she emailed and said that it would be worth entering it in to a photo comp run by WAMi.
Slightly later in the year I followed her advice. Today the winner of the portrait category was announced - turns out it's ME! Thank you Laura, Small, and Jolic.

Print sales are always nice. This is a big one that's just come back from the lab, en route to the framer's.
Shot the old fashioned way - on film, bellows camera, and a black cloth thrown over my head.
And... proof that the old shed looked better 20 years ago than it does now.

Just happened upon this out take from the HeartKids Australia shoot a few months ago with Tracey Horsley and the guys from The Shedcsc. This is Patrick, who at two and a half years old underwent open heart surgery - for reasons which are now foggy to me. But I do remember that he was a real little trouper and a pleasure to work with. His zipper scar is only a couple of months old.

A few spreads from a biography about Perth Businessman Stan Perron which has just been released. Stan’s self effacement and modesty are almost as legendary as his considerable achievements, it was a pleasure and a privilege to get an opportunity to spend time and work with him and his family. Beautifully designed by John Emery (REB Design), Ben Brennan (Scotprint) handled the printing – superbly.
