Celebrating a great milestone at ACS — 15 years for Brendan (AKA ’The Bird’) 👏
Brendan joined us as a Storeman and, over the years, has grown alongside the business into a critical part of our operations. Today, as our Project Procurement Officer, he oversees purchasing across all projects, manages our stores, and plays a key role in maintaining our facilities and assets.
Known for his attention to detail (and what can only be described as a photographic memory), Brendan is someone who always has the best interests of ACS at heart. A true company man.
He’s constantly looking for ways we can improve, quietly driving standards higher every day.
Thanks for your commitment Brendan, a huge contribution over 15 years and counting.

On Saturday night we had the chance to celebrate 20 years of Auto Control Systems with the people who’ve been part of the journey.
It was great to bring together past and present team members, key suppliers, and the clients who have supported us along the way.
Over 20 years, there have been plenty of projects, challenges and milestones but it’s the relationships behind it all that have made it what it is.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and to those who’ve played a role in shaping ACS over the years.
We’re proud of what’s been built and looking forward to what’s ahead.

We recently exhibited at the Indo-Pacific Robotics, Autonomy, AI and Cyber Conference and Exhibition. The conference brought together over 110 speakers from 20 countries across robotics, AI, cyber, agriculture, mining, energy, advanced manufacturing, space and more.
It was a wonderful opportunity for Auto Control Systems to be part of this incredible event showcasing:
🔸 The KUKA KMP1500P AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle)
🔸 The KUKA KR6 robot featuring the new iiQKA.OS2 operating system
🔸 The UR5e from Universal Robots
We had some brilliant conversations throughout the conference and look forward to continuing these discussions and exploring new opportunities to collaborate across industries.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and to the organisers, in particular David Matrai for an outstanding event.

🎉 A big milestone for ACS today!
We’re excited to welcome Alvin to our 10-Year Anniversary Board. In fact, we’ve had to start a second board as the first one is now full — a true testament to the loyalty and consistency of our team.
Alvin joined us on 17 August 2015 as a Storeman and over the years has left his mark in many ways — from being a talented drawer, to implementing our Lean Program, and of course as our trusty forklift driver 🚜.
📸 Pictured here with Michelle Watts, Alvin proudly takes his place on our new 10-Year Board.
We’re grateful for Alvin’s commitment and contribution over the past decade, and proud to celebrate this achievement with him.
👏 Congratulations Alvin
We’re excited to share that our new website is now live 🎉

We recently had the pleasure of supporting a robotics showcase at Kalamunda Senior High School . Our team set up a Universal Robots demo station where students had the opportunity to take control of the robot pendant and navigate the robot and Robotiq gripper to pick up various items.
It’s inspiring to see students actively engaging with robotics and automation technology. At ACS, we strongly believe in the power of STEM education and its importance in shaping the future of our industries. By giving students hands-on experience with advanced technology, we’re helping to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators.

Robotic Welding Cell Project
Auto Control Systems collaborated with local manufacturer Rocks Gone Pty Ltd to design and implement a state-of-the-art robotic welding cell. This advanced system features a KUKA KR300 for parts handling and a KR8 Arc robot for the hardfacing of agricultural equipment. It’s equipped with Lincoln Robotic Welding Equipment, ATI Tooling, IFM 12” Touch HMI, and an EtherCAT safety controller with Beckhoff IO.
The entire process is fully automated, incorporating preheating, scanning, hardfacing, fume extraction, and post-heating of components. The 12” HMI provides an easy interface for the operator, complemented by simple pushbutton controls to ensure smooth operation.
Micro Epsilon Laser Profiler scans incoming components, enabling real-time adjustment of the weld path based on scan data. To ensure safety, the system includes Axelent guarding and GuardMaster safety interlocks, providing comprehensive protection. Peripheral equipment is monitored and controlled via the system's control panel.
This innovative solution allows Rocks Gone to process a wide variety of parts through a single integrated cell, delivering both high efficiency and precision in agricultural equipment manufacturing.

Drill Rig Automated Control System
Auto Control Systems collaborated with Foraco to develop an innovative automated control system for their Drill Rigs. The system features IFM PLCs housed in custom-built control cabinets, with a comprehensive range of components including sensors, solenoids, and other key parts, all integrated into the PLC's I/O.
One of the standout features of the system is its remote-control functionality. The drill rig can be operated remotely via a Receiver, allowing the operator to manage the rig with ease and precision. For real-time monitoring, data is displayed on an IFM HMI inside the cabinet, or through a tablet using our remote viewing setup.
This setup leverages a router, enabling remote access via VPN for users to view the HMI display or stream live footage from the rig's 5 x camera system. To address the challenge of connectivity in remote areas, we’ve incorporated Starlink, ensuring reliable communication even in the most isolated locations.
The system is designed for simplicity and efficiency, with braided cable harnesses and plug-and-play connections. This modular setup makes maintenance easier, as only damaged harnesses need to be replaced, eliminating the need for rewiring the entire system.
By using a remote control, the design significantly reduces operator exposure to potential hazards on the rig, while offering the added benefit of remote support—allowing us to connect and troubleshoot from anywhere in the world.
