Shout out to Kalamunda Districts Rugby Union Club for this great initiative!

It’s especially exciting to see this come to life with the support of Kelly, one of our co-design group members from the Welcoming Inclusive Network (WIN) Project. Kelly has taken up the role of the club’s Inclusion Officer and is helping to lead the rollout of this program.

This is a great example of how inclusive ideas can turn into real opportunities within community sport 💪

🔴⚫️ ALL ABILITIES COMING TO KALA ⚫️🔴

On the weekend, we were proud to host RugbyWA All Abilities and S.C.R.U.M WA at the Bulls Pen, a fantastic showcase of how inclusive and welcoming our game can be. Building on that, Kalamunda Rugby Club is exploring the launch of an All Abilities rugby program—designed to give players of all ages and abilities a safe, supportive space to get involved, stay active, and feel part of a strong community.

We’d love to hear from parents, families, carers, and community members who may be interested, whether it’s playing, volunteering, or simply learning more. If this sounds like something you or someone you know would enjoy, please reach out to [email protected] or leave a comment below—we’d be thrilled to connect.

National Reconciliation Week 2026 | 27 May – 3 June 🌿

This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect, learn and take action toward a more just and inclusive Australia.

The 2026 theme,“All In”, is a call for us all to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, every single day. 🖤💛❤️

We honour the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and acknowledge that real change happens when we all work together.

Let’s listen, learn, and take action to help build respectful relationships and a stronger future for everyone.

Say hello to Jenni, one of our newest WayFairers in Kwinana!

Jenni is from Kwinana and was keen to give back to her community through volunteering. While we explored opportunities within Kwinana, it became clear that the best fit for her was located a little further afield.

We supported Jenni to find her volunteer role at Melville City Hockey Club. With her experience coaching all-abilities children’s programs, combined with her passion for helping others, she has been invaluable in helping to launch the Club’s new Hockey For All program.

Older adults bring a wealth of skills, talents, and experience. Through the WayFairer Project, we tap into this by matching people aged 50+ with meaningful volunteer opportunities in their communities 💪. While we always prioritise local opportunities, our focus is ultimately on helping people find roles that align with their interests, strengths, and goals.

Are you located in or around the City of Kwinana and curious to learn if volunteering is something for you? Learn more on our website: https://inclusionsolutions.org.au/what.../wayfairer-project/

Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting the team at RAC Arena to deliver our Social Inclusion and Disability Awareness training!

Our sessions are designed to be highly interactive, with a strong focus on group discussion and shared learning. We love getting conversations flowing, not only does it deepen understanding, but it also makes the experience more meaningful, practical and impactful for everyone involved.

We had some fantastic discussions with the RAC team around inclusive language, social inclusion theory, and creating more accessible and welcoming environments, just to name a few!

A big thank you to the team at RAC Arena for having us, and for your ongoing commitment to making Perth a more inclusive place for people with disability.

Meet AJ and Marg, two of the driving forces behind the WayFairer project in Mandurah and Kwinana!

Having been involved in their local community and volunteering for a long time, both AJ and Marg have a strong understanding of the immense benefits that volunteering brings to both individuals and communities.

For National Volunteer Week, we sat down with them both to learn more about the WayFairer Project, the benefits of volunteering and how it enhances social connection in the Mandurah and Kwinana communities.

The WayFairer Project is a collaboration between Inclusion Solutions, Department of Communities, City of Mandurah and City of Kwinana that aims to unite adults 50+ with the broader community.

🌟 Happy National Volunteer Week🌟

Here are some great quotes from our recent interview with WayFairer Project Lead, Marg and Community Volunteer Connector AJ!

For National Volunteer Week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with them to talk more about the value of volunteering, how it promotes personal growth and how volunteering can promote emotional health and wellbeing throughout retirement.

Always inspiring to see the impact they’re making in the community through sport, empowering people with disability, building confidence, and creating opportunities. 🙌
