Over $50 million in contracts with Alva & MacGregors

Investing in home is what we do. And with the recent approval to restart operations at our Touquoy Gold Mine, we’ve awarded over $50M in contracts to two Nova Scotian companies: Alva Construction and MacGregors Industrial Sales. Together, they will help support the reopening of Touquoy and during the processing period. We’re pleased to see this investment helping to create new jobs and support economic growth in rural communities across the province.

We’re on track to restart production by the end of this year at the Touquoy gold mine, following the Board’s final investment decision on the Project.

The Touquoy mine, in Nova Scotia, Canada, involves the reprocessing of stockpiles from which we expect to produce 38,000 oz gold over 2027 and 2028 – before the plant is relocated to 15-Mile for large scale production from mid-2029.

The FID follows recent permitting approvals from the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Climate Change.

St Barbara has engaged two local Nova Scotian companies (Alva Construction and MacGregor’s Industrial) to provide support services for the reopening and processing at Touquoy.

St Barbara Limited Managing Director and CEO Andrew Strelein said: “The processing of stockpiled ore at Touquoy is a significant step forward for St Barbara in Nova Scotia. It demonstrates the province is open to investment in resources projects, will provide for nearly 200 new jobs within the province and add to the province’s growing GDP all while responsibly managing our shared environment.”

Nova Scotia Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables, The Honourable Kim Masland said: “I am pleased to see that the contracts being signed will employ Nova Scotians, especially in rural areas, and keep them working here, close to home.”

Our investment in extending production at the New Simberi Gold Project and re-starting Nova Scotia will bring in a new era for St Barbara – with gold production rising to 200,000oz per annum by 2031 at highly competitive costs.

In a production outlook released today, we outline our plan to take production from 48koz in FY27 to 191koz in FY30, compound annual growth of 59%.

We’re fully funded to meet the upcoming capital requirements to develop these projects, using A$504 million in cash and bullion and forecast operating cash flow from the Touquoy Restart and then the New Simberi Gold Project.

St Barbara’s future production is underpinned by long mine lives at the New Simberi Gold Project (14 years) and the Nova Scotia Projects (11+ years).

Our Managing Director and CEO Andrew Strelein said:

“St Barbara’s recent breakthroughs with the Mining Lease Extension and now FID on the New Simberi Gold Project, the permitting of the Touquoy Restart and the impressive results of the 15-Mile Processing Hub Project Pre-Feasibility Study set up the Company for an attractive gold production CAGR of 59% lifting attributable production to over 190koz in FY30 and more than 200koz in FY31.”

“The Lingbao transaction ensures the Company is fully funded for development of these projects based on existing cash of more than A$500 million and cashflow from remnant Simberi oxides and the Touquoy Restart. This has been an incredible effort by the entire team with support from our partners and the relationships established with regulators in each jurisdiction through perseverance and ongoing engagement.”
