Pindari House
Pindari - a long term residential program for men struggling with addiction & other life issues. A pathway to HOPE!
At Pindari Restoration House, we aim to transform men in need into people who understand themselves, their value and achievement, and who can live a fullness of life with a stronger connection with God. To achieve this transformation, our residential program provides restorative support, counseling, and life skills in a family-centered and therapeutic environment over 12 months.

A big congratulations to Tyler, who has just finished his Work and Development Order through NSW.
This is no small thing. Working through a WDO takes commitment, consistency, and a real willingness to show up day after day and Tyler has done exactly that.
It's a clear sign of the hard work and dedication he's putting into changing his life, and a reminder of what's possible when someone decides to keep moving forward.
We're proud of you, Tyler. Keep going. πͺ

Lending a hand at Garden of Hope π±
Every now and then some of our Residents head over to help out with the lawns and gardens at Garden of Hope. It's a job they genuinely look forward to.
Garden of Hope, run by the Salvos, is a place of peace, healing and connection. With garden beds, fruit trees, chickens, beehives, a wood-fired pizza oven and a long table for sharing meals, it's a space where everyone's welcome to gather, eat and belong.
For our men, getting in and helping out is about more than mowing and weeding. It's learning to serve, show up for others, and be part of something good in the community.
To the team at Garden of Hope - thank you for the warmth and care you bring to so many. We're grateful to be a small part of it. π
Together, we are making restoration possible.

π‘ Interesting Fact #1:
One thing every person struggling with addiction has in common is pain - emotional, psychological, or physical.
Grief, trauma, relationship breakdowns, mental illness, financial stress, and isolation are often the drivers to substance use. Drugs and alcohol are frequently used as a way to cope, numb, or escape that pain - even if only temporarily
π‘ Interesting Fact #2:
Many people donβt start using substances βto get addicted.β
They often begin for reasons like:
β’ wanting to relax
β’ fitting in socially
β’ managing stress or pressure
β’ self-medicating emotional or physical pain
Over time, these coping strategies can quietly turn into dependence or addiction
Recovery starts by identifying the drivers - not just stopping the behaviour.

Did you know? By the age of 35, around 95% of who you are runs on autopilot.
Your thoughts, reactions, moods, even your beliefs - most of it is a program your brain hits "play" on every morning. π³
And here's the kicker: most people wake up and immediately start thinking about the same problems, the same people, the same worries from yesterday. So they end up living the same day on repeat⦠and calling it a life.
But here's the hopeful part π
β’ Stress thoughts release hormones that can quite literally make you sick.
β’ Positive emotions like love, gratitude and joy can switch healthy genes on and even lengthen the telomeres on your DNA (the markers of biological age).
β’ Your body can't tell the difference between something that's actually happening and something you're vividly imagining - which is why visualisation is so powerful.
Here's the part nobody warned us about: many of us are emotionally addicted to feelings like guilt, fear, anger or shame. Not because we like them - but because they're familiar. And the body craves the familiar, even when it's hurting us. π
So change feels uncomfortable. Of course it does. You're not broken - your body is just asking for the old hit of stress it's used to.
The shift that changes everything?
π± Moving from victim mode β creator mode. From "I feel this way because of what happened to me" to "My thinking and feeling can shape what happens next."
You don't have to wait for life to get better before you feel better. Feel the peace, the gratitude, the confidence first - and watch your outer world start to catch up.
Remember: You don't have to believe every thought you think.
What's one old program thought you'd love to retire today?
