Australian music legend Col Joye has died aged 89.

The country, pop and rock and roll singer, whose real name was Colin Frederick Jacobsen, was the first rock and roll singer to have a number one record Australia-wide.

JUST IN: Police have confirmed human remains found in dense bushland near Good Night Scrub National Park belong to Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop.

The 17-year-old's housemates, 34-year-old James Wood and 33-year-old Tanika Bromley, have been charged with her murder.

95-year-old Hollywood legend Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy have been found dead at their home.

There is no foul play suggested, according to local media.

Hackman entered the world of showbiz with his iconic role in Bonnie and Clyde in 1967. He then went on to win two Oscars. His first Oscar was for his leading role as Detective Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle in The French Connection, followed by a best supporting actor win in Unforgiven, a Clint Eastwood film.
