Simone Craddock

My Grandad, Len Pooley, was only 16 when he enlisted to serve in WW1. He never spoke of his time on the front line or in the POW camp, until he was interviewed 70 years later.

This ANZAC Day, I’ll be sharing Grandad’s inspiring story of survival and love, through verbatim excerpts from that interview, and jazz standards from the era.

I’ll be joined by Russell Holmes at the piano, Shane Pooley on dbl bass, and Greg Brenton on drums.
