Winter is the ideal season for new plants to take root! Like this new front yard in Ferndale 🌱 🌱 🌱
Bull ants 🐜 a pretty large, aggressive ant with long mandibles, big eyes and a venom loaded stinger. Can sting multiple times 😮💨 Can track and chase intruders from up to a meter away. Just don’t disturb them is my advice. Native to Australia. Their burrow is impressive, and they keep the soil loose and well-aerated. That’s a benefit.

A plant sale is currently underway at TAFE Murdoch, featuring an extensive range of plant species at affordable prices. Bumped into Mel from Rewilding Suburbia attended the event! Yes, she purchased beneficial insect-friendly plants 🌱 😁✨ There will be plenty of plants left on Thursday. Horticulture at South Metropolitan TAFE.

It’s not just about the drawings — it’s about the results! 🌿
A firepit surrounded by natives, fruit trees, and a perfect lawn. Another happy client… and yes, a proud Jacob.

Encountered a single sizeable portion of Eucalyptus tree with four distinct textures, worth capturing in a few photos.

Hakea pincushion. It’s pretty stunning! And bees love it too. 🐝

Dwellingup during autumn is picturesque. Additionally, I discovered a gigantic Oak tree; I don't see them like this very often.

Despite requiring more water and attention to its growth, the umbrella papyrus surprisingly complemented plants like spiderplant, Aloe topaz, Gazania, and Indian cress effectively, creating an attractive grouping.

It's no secret low-maintenance gardens are pretty popular. And they have benefits! Just not always in the way people expect. Leave a few shady spots alone and nature will do its thing, bringing in interesting new plants, more birds and beneficial insects 🐞 🌱 🦅

Looking back on the Perth Garden Show adventure: a highly diverse setup, well attended, and filled with inspiring talks from experts across Australia. The LDI stand attracted plenty of interest, and the garden consults were especially popular.
The pocket gardens were judged to be of a very high standard. Sam Wells took home gold with an impressive design, featuring a fully integrated birdwatching hide within just 2.4 m². Congratulations Sam!
Hopefully, we’ll be back again next year with new and inspiring garden designs.
