Over recent days, large and fast-moving fires have caused significant damage across parts of the Mid West and Wheatbelt, affecting farmland, infrastructure and areas of cultural and historical importance.

We recognise the profound impact these events have had on local landholders, communities and businesses. The loss of crops and property, combined with the damage to sites of cultural significance, is deeply distressing and will be felt for some time.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), volunteer bushfire brigades, emergency responders and the local councils who have worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to protect lives and property. We also acknowledge the strength and resilience shown by communities supporting one another during this difficult time.

Green Wind Renewables’ thoughts are with everyone affected. We encourage community members to continue following official advice, remain vigilant as the fire season continues, and access available support services where needed.

We remain committed to working respectfully alongside our host communities and will continue to listen and offer support where appropriate as recovery efforts progress 💚

The Wheatbelt is rapidly becoming a hub for renewable energy, with major wind and solar projects driving new opportunities for local businesses.
To ensure communities across the region can benefit from this investment, the Wheatbelt Development Commission is working alongside renewable energy developers – including Green Wind Renewables – to strengthen local participation in project supply chains.

💚The Green Wind Renewables Community Relations Team proudly joined the Heroes to Hub fun run, in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA (RFDS) – an organisation that continues to save lives across regional Australia.

Green Wind was a proud sponsor of the event, which saw an incredible 160 participants run, walk or ride the 26km track. The event raised more than $130,000 to support the vital work of the RFDS! 🎉
