It’s Avon Descent time trial day… what a blast we had with record high water. Not a perfect run but good enough to see us towards the front of the grid in our class for race day next weekend. Thanks to for your support again this year as we take on the Avon Descent 2022

Good day out yesterday, physically tough race for everyone in the low water but so much fun had. Very happy to have finished on the podium at Nannup Cup 2022!! 🏆😀

Great to see so many family’s out and about visiting towns along the Avon river all weekend. Charity groups collecting money from the overnight camps, and other funding sources all weekend. This community event is a great part of WA’s history and culture, surely the WA government is able to ensure its financially security for the enjoyment of many generations to come.

I was once a young boy on the river bank watching and dreaming of one day racing in this great race. Something that as an adult I’ve been fortunate enough to do. I hope the WA government is able to ensure the young boys and girls that were watching and dreaming this weekend get the same opportunity in years to come 🚤 💨

Still making the news for our most famous crash 🙈😆

Dusted off the race boat a few weeks ago and managed our first ever podium for 040 Racing. 3rd Place class finish in the Mario Ambrosini Sprint on the Swan River 🏅

Coming 4th through most of the race, after a good battle with the boat in front we got the pass done under the Narrows Bridge on the City’s doorstep 💪🏻

It’s been a long time between drinks for 040, and it was great to be back!!

For anyone coming tomorrow to watch day 1 of this years Avon Descent and 040 Racing, low water means some different suggested vantage points For this year;

Northam Start Line and Northam Weir - will be extremely challenging in low water and there will be some ‘interesting’ lines to be taken through the mud and rocks.

Dumbarton Bridge - great viewing up and down the river with a rapid below.

Toodyay Bridge - narrow passage through town, and plenty of activities with the family fun day on all day.

Rubbish Tip - very long challenging rocky section and great for those in the know, but if you haven’t been here before other option might be easier to access.

Julimar Road Bridge - technical section with narrow channels, mud banks and rocks.

Cobblers Pool Finish Line - We hope to see this one still in one piece!!

Tomorrow is go time! 😬 Avon Descent 2019

Practice weekend was fun, tho short for 040 Racing this year. Fuel flow issues slowed us down, then substantial boat damage (not our fault this time, just unlucky!) ended our weekend on the river. Hoping for better luck next weekend, bring on the Avon Descent! 💪🏻

Despite our detour up a tree 😬 a credible 4th place finish in our class🚤💨
