We asked our Dermal Therapists, Maya and Janelle, to discuss why BBL® Broadband Light and MOXI® Laser are often combined as part of a personalised skin treatment plan.

While both technologies can support overall skin quality and appearance, they work in different ways.

BBL® uses light energy to target visible pigmentation and uneven skin tone, while MOXI® is a gentle fractional laser designed to support the skin’s natural renewal processes and address texture concerns.

By combining these modalities, it may be possible to address multiple skin concerns within the one treatment plan, including:

• Uneven skin tone
• Visible pigmentation
• Early signs of skin ageing
• Skin texture concerns

Every skin journey is unique. A personalised consultation is essential to determine whether these treatments are suitable for your individual needs.

Book a consultation with our team to learn more about whether a combined BBL and MOXI treatment plan may be right for you.

At Ocean Cosmetics, our team brings together 30+ years of combined experience. Rather than relying on a single opinion, we collaborate, share knowledge, and continually train to ensure every treatment plan is guided by evidence, expertise, and patient safety.

We select technologies and treatment approaches based on clinical evidence, safety considerations, and patient needs.

Did you know? The most effective skin treatments often use a multi modality approach. Combining professional treatments, advanced technology, and tailored skincare can deliver better long term outcomes.

Our philosophy is centred on:

• Listening and understanding your concerns
• Evidence based treatment planning
• Use of science backed technology
• Education and informed decision making
• Ongoing support throughout your skin journey

A consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns, review relevant medical history, assess your skin, and explore the approaches that may be suitable for your individual needs.

Nurse Chloe explains why we combine Density RF with BBL Broadband Light®

As our skin changes over time, different concerns can develop at different layers of the skin. Surface concerns may include pigmentation, redness and visible sun damage. While deeper structural changes can affect skin firmness, texture and elasticity.

BBL Broadband Light® uses light energy to target pigmentation, redness and signs of sun damage. This helps to improve overall skin tone and clarity.

Density RF uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat deeper layers of the skin to support the skin’s natural collagen and elastin production. This may assist with firmness and texture over time.

When combined, these treatments work at different depths to address multiple skin concerns in a single treatment approach.
This combination treatment may be suitable for those experiencing uneven skin tone, visible sun damage, or early changes in skin texture and firmness.

A personalised consultation is recommended to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your skin concerns.

Dr Gina discusses DENSITY RF an advanced radiofrequency treatment designed to support skin tightening, collagen stimulation, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Unlike many traditional RF devices that use a single energy mode, DENSITY RF delivers sequential monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency in a single pulse. This dual mode technology is designed to target multiple skin layers simultaneously, supporting collagen stimulation and skin rejuvenation.

Dr Gina discusses how this advanced approach may assist in improving the appearance of skin laxity, texture, and overall skin quality.

Some things that set Density RF apart from other RF technologies:

- Dual-mode energy delivery in one pulse
- Adjustable cooling for comfort during treatment
-Real-time energy calibration to adapt to your skin
- No needles, no numbing required
- Suitable for all skin types

Because RF energy helps stimulate natural collagen remodeling, many patients notice both immediate tightening and progressive improvements over the following weeks and months.

As with all cosmetic treatments, suitability depends on your individual skin concerns, health history, and goals.

We recommend starting with a consultation so our practitioners can assess whether this treatment is right for you.

Combining bioregenerative treatments with laser procedures can support overall skin quality by addressing multiple elements of skin health and function.

Laser treatments work by creating controlled stimulation within the skin, encouraging the natural repair response and supporting collagen and elastin production over time. This can help improve overall skin texture, tone, and quality while targeting signs of skin ageing and environmental damage.

Bioregenerative treatments work differently by supporting the skin from within. They help improve hydration, strengthen the skin barrier, and support overall skin health, allowing the skin to recover and respond more effectively to treatment.
When thoughtfully combined, these treatments can complement one another by supporting both structural repair and skin quality.

The focus is not on changing the way you look, but on supporting healthier and more radiant skin over time.

At Ocean Cosmetics, treatment plans are carefully tailored using a doctor led, evidence based approach to regenerative aesthetics, ensuring each treatment is selected based on your individual skin goals and needs.

As Dr Gina prepares for her son’s wedding celebrations, her focus has been on supporting skin health and achieving natura looking results through a long term treatment approach.

Over the years, Dr Gina has incorporated treatments such as EMFACE® to support facial muscle stimulation and structural support, helping to maintain a strong foundation as part of her overall skin journey.

She chose Ultraformer MPT for lower face contouring and definition, alongside two treatments with DENSITY™ RF, the latest radiofrequency technology introduced at Ocean Cosmetics. Density RF is designed to support skin firmness and address skin laxity.

While Dr Gina does have injectable treatments as part of her personalised plan, her philosophy has always remained the same, focusing on collagen support, subtle enhancement and natural looking results.

One of the most important messages Dr Gina shares with patients is the value of planning ahead. Skin treatments often work progressively over time, which is why we encourage starting your treatment journey well in advance of important life events to allow for a personalised and considered approach.

At Ocean Cosmetics, our focus is always on healthy skin, balanced results, and helping our patients feel confident in their own skin.

Dr Gina will also be taking some time away to enjoy this incredibly special family celebration.

Resurfacing season is here, but not all laser and light treatments work the same way. We asked our Dermal Therapist to choose her favourite resurfacing treatments.

Fraxel® is a fractional non ablative laser designed to stimulate collagen production and improve concerns such as acne scarring, pigmentation, uneven texture and early signs of ageing.

Erbium® is a fractionally ablative laser used for more intensive resurfacing, helping to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and skin texture with precision skin renewal.

BBL® (BroadBand Light) targets redness, pigmentation and sun damage while supporting overall skin rejuvenation and skin clarity.

Revlite® is a Q-switched laser commonly used for targeted pigment correction, post-inflammatory pigmentation and overall brightening.

The most suitable treatment will always depend on your skin concerns, goals and professional skin assessment.

Book a consultation to learn which treatment options may be suitable for your skin.

Skin resurfacing season is here but not all lasers are the same.

Different lasers work in different ways depending on:

• Wavelength
• Pulse duration
• Delivery method

Some target pigmentation, others focus on blood vessels, skin texture, or collagen deeper within the skin.

The right laser is not only chosen based on the concern being treated, but also the individual skin type and tone, as different skin responds differently to laser energy.

Some treatments work superficially to improve tone and texture, while others pe*****te deeper to support collagen stimulation and skin rejuvenation.

This is why consultation and personalised treatment planning are essential.

At Ocean Cosmetics, our doctor-led approach allows treatments to be tailored safely and precisely using advanced laser technologies.
