HPS believes that rich learning environments reflect and celebrate student learning. By showcasing student work, we honour student voice, encourage engagement, and create spaces that inspire curiosity, growth, and achievement.

❤️ Jump Rope for Heart Update! ❤️

Today we were excited to welcome Grace from the Heart Foundation back to Hocking P.S.!

Three lucky classes had the opportunity to work with Grace to further develop their skipping skills, and it's safe to say she was very impressed with the incredible progress our students have made so far! 🌟👏

Our school community continues to do an amazing job supporting this important cause:

108 students registered
61 students actively fundraising!
$11,763 raised so far!

The energy, enthusiasm and determination on display have been fantastic to see, and we can't wait to continue building our skills as we work towards our Jump Off Day! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

If you haven't already, there's still time to register your child and join in the fun while helping raise funds for lifesaving heart research and support programs.

Our fortnightly Values Focus is Uniqueness. At Hocking Primary School, Uniqueness means being strong enough to do what you know is right and being true to yourself.

During our recent Values Assembly, students explored the idea of cultural uniqueness and the importance of valuing the diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences that make Australia such a rich and vibrant nation. As part of National Reconciliation Week, students reflected on the historical challenges faced by First Nations peoples and discussed how we can continue moving forward together with understanding, respect and unity.

To finish the session, students participated in a team-building activity where they learned to play the traditional Aboriginal game of Kai. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and enthusiasm as students embraced the experience together.
