Many of our WA followers will no doubt remember the Lever family, with Phillip’s dad Laurie heavily involved in the Bond Showjumping series and his mum Annie enjoying great success in the competition arena here in WA. It’ll be lovely to catch up with Phillip and Frida and hear about their journey, their training centre, and life at the top level of the sport on tonight’s Talking Horses 😊
Tonight on Talking Horses 🐴
Joining us tonight are top show jumpers Phillip Lever and Frida Lindgren — the dynamic duo behind Lever Equestrian, the world-class training and coaching centre based on Victoria’s beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
We’ll be chatting about their competitive careers, coaching the next generation of internationally competitive young riders, developing talented young horses, and what it really takes to succeed as a professional equestrian athlete.
Both born into highly successful equestrian families, Frida grew up with horses in Sweden and has trained, worked and competed throughout Europe. Phillip was perhaps always destined for the international showjumping arena, with his father Laurie Lever representing Australia at the Olympics and his mother Annie enjoying great success in dressage and show horse competition.
Since returning to Australia after competing successfully in Nations Cups and Grand Prix events across Europe, Phillip has claimed the Australian Senior Championship, the Victorian Senior State Title, and the World Cup qualifier at Willinga Park aboard the outstanding Billionaire NZPH.
Whether you’re listening in the car, at the stables, or tuning in on your phone, there’ll be plenty to talk about tonight from 6pm on SportFM 91.3 🎙️📻

Tonight on Talking Horses 🎙️🐴
Joining us this week is Shannon Crosby, whose lifelong journey with horses has taken her from western pleasure to showing and breeding Miniature Horses and Ponies - and ultimately into the world of carriage driving.
Shannon first discovered carriage driving through volunteering with Riding for the Disabled more than a decade ago, and it quickly became her passion. We’ll be chatting about what drew her to the sport, what makes a good driving horse or pony, some of the challenges faced by the WA carriage driving community, plus a few memorable moments she’s experienced along the way 😊

This week we’re chatting with Sarah Hasenlust, who has been travelling Australia from Germany since late 2023 and working at a number of equestrian centres along the way - including Fernhill Equestrian and Peppercorn Park in NSW, and more recently Yalambi Farm Stud here in WA.
We’ll be chatting about the differences she’s noticed between the equestrian industry in Germany and Australia, what she’s made of the WA horse scene, and some of the differences she’s found between Australian and German showjumpers.
It’s a really interesting perspective from someone experiencing our industry from the outside looking in - so tune in tonight for the chat 😊
