Congrats to Brien Hennessy & Andy Hackett on another Javelin class National title win, and also Clayton Irwin & Darryl Everett who finished 6th. Both sailing their new Fastacraft/Howell design hulls.

Finally some pictures of the two new Javelins that were launched in October. “Fat Boys” and “Cool Change”. These hulls have open/flooding seat tanks with drainage allowing the stored spinnaker to be inside there for a really clean deck.

To build a new moulded shape such as a boat deck you need to create an original pattern also known as a plug to then create a new fibreglass mould. Here is series of pics showing our new Javelin class deck plug built from MDF sheet, foam, body filler and paint to a high gloss finish ready to build the new mould. The temporary MDF deck is built on top of a new carbon hull to ensure that the two parts will match together nicely.

This is our prototype wingfoil board project, the designs 3D modelling, CNC shaping and composite processing all done inhouse. The goal was to create an easy planing 100 litre volume intermediate board that could be used to learn on but also has a really light easy feel with very little swing weight due the superlight 5.3kg construction. With a unique bottom shape and air release system to promote early release, a volume distribution to optimise stability with a concave deck and eva pad for comfort. Our recent new Javelin hull fresh from the mould. Vacuum infused epoxy resins and carbon fibre foam core it weighed in at 21kg including gel coat surface.
