đ§ Project Highlight | Fertiliser Processing Facility, Albany
Sometimes the simplest solutions can make the biggest difference.
FRP Engineering recently completed a custom-designed FRP crossover for a fertiliser processing facility in Albany, creating a safe and efficient access route across a large bunded area that previously required workers to take the long way around.
The challenge? The crossover needed to be lightweight enough for a single crane lift, yet strong enough to span the bund and fit precisely onto prepared concrete supports.
Through detailed planning, engineering and offsite prefabrication, the entire structure was installed in just one day with no disruption to plant operations.
â Improved site access
â Increased operational efficiency
â Rapid installation
â Corrosion-resistant FRP construction
More details on this project coming soon in a full case study.

Not all infrastructure challenges are visible on day one.
When selecting materials for industrial environments, the conversation often centres around upfront costs. But the real cost of an asset is measured over its entire lifecycle.
Corrosion, maintenance requirements, downtime, safety risks and replacement intervals all influence long-term performance and value.
That's why material selection is about more than meeting today's project requirementsâit's about understanding how an asset will perform years into the future.
As infrastructure owners look to improve resilience and reduce ongoing maintenance burdens, taking a whole-of-life approach to material selection has never been more important.
The best outcomes are achieved when performance, durability, safety and lifecycle costs are considered togetherânot in isolation.

Project Highlight đˇââď¸
A major medical centre recently engaged FRP Engineering to improve access to their rooftop HVAC systems.
The existing walkway presented several safety challenges, with multiple voids creating risks for maintenance personnel. The solution needed to be safe, practical, and installed quickly without disrupting day-to-day operations.
Using FRP grating, pedestal supports and extensive offsite prefabrication, our team delivered a compliant access system in just three days.
The result? A safer working environment and improved access for ongoing maintenance.
We'll be sharing the full project story and case study soon. Stay tuned.

Fire safety is often discussed in terms of compliance, ratings and standardsâbut effective infrastructure design requires a deeper understanding of how materials behave under real-world conditions.
When selecting materials for industrial environments, factors such as durability, corrosion resistance and structural performance are often front of mind. Yet fire performance remains a critical consideration that can influence long-term safety outcomes.
For Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) systems, the role of fire-retardant additives, flame spread characteristics and smoke development are all part of a broader conversation around risk, resilience and responsible asset design.
As industries continue to seek smarter, longer-lasting infrastructure solutions, understanding the science behind material performance is becoming increasingly important.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing insights into fire performance in FRP materials, including testing methodologies, key considerations and how material selection can support safer infrastructure outcomes.

Just over a week ago, many of us came together at Licence to Kill Cancer for a truly special evening of community, generosity and hope.
FRP Engineering was proud to support this meaningful event as a sponsor and be part of a night dedicated to creating positive change.
Together, an incredible $209,000+ was raised to help advance clinical trials, translational research and emerging treatment opportunities for patients facing pancreatic, gastro-intestinal and rare cancers.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated and contributed. Nights like these are a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together for something bigger than themselves.

Looking beyond upfront cost.
The true cost of infrastructure isnât measured at installation â itâs measured across its entire lifespan.
While traditional materials may seem more cost-effective initially, ongoing maintenance, corrosion management and replacement costs can significantly impact long-term value.
FRP helps reduce total lifecycle costs through durability, low maintenance requirements and an extended service life â delivering stronger performance over time and greater value across the life of the asset.
Because smarter infrastructure decisions arenât just about todayâs budget â theyâre about tomorrowâs outcomes.
