What an incredible weekend! πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

Our team members Amy Ross, Julie Pham, Damian Oldmeadow and Julie Scudds took on the SEVEN Gravel Cycling Race in Nannup this weekend. Despite the chilly morning start, they pushed through what turned out to be a challenging but rewarding day.

We know how tough endurance events can be. That's why we're so proud of their determination and effort. It was wonderful to see so many Star Physio friends and clients at the start line too.

Special congratulations to everyone who qualified for the World Gravel Bike Championships in October!

What an incredible day supporting such an important cause! πŸ’™

Star Physio and Podiatry Mosman Park's Aaron Tay and Amy Ross joined physiotherapy students from Curtin University to provide post-event care for walkers at the New Town Toyota Walk for Women's Cancer on Saturday. These amazing participants covered distances from 5km to 42km, raising vital funds for the Perkins Institute.

We understand that walking long distances can take a toll on your body. That's why we were there to offer massage, injury advice, and support when walkers needed it most. It's been our privilege to support the Perkins Foundation for many years through our physiotherapy and podiatry services.

Whether you're dealing with walking pain now or already thinking about next year's big walk, our caring team is here to help you move forward comfortably and confidently.

Volleyball players: Want to jump higher and hit harder?

Strength alone isn’t the answer.

Jump height and spiking power depend on how quickly you can produce force β€” not just how much force you have.

That’s where rate of force development (RFD) becomes critical.

In this article, Amy Ross (Physiotherapist & Exercise Scientist) explains why:

strength isn’t enough on its own
explosive intent matters
and how to train for real performance

Every step you take happens in a fraction of a second.

If your muscles can’t produce force quickly, you lose efficiency β€” and increase injury risk.

Amy Ross breaks down:

why this matters
what most rehab misses
how to fix it

Cyclists: Ever felt strong… but still slow to accelerate?

That’s often not a strength problem.

It’s a speed of strength problem.

In this article, Amy Ross (pictured on the bike!) explains why rate of force development is critical for:

sprinting
climbing
accelerations

And how to train it properly.
