The AIATSIS Summit 2024 has won Best Congress or Conference for 500 delegates or over. This year’s summit had record attendance, bringing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, leaders and youth together with a variety of stakeholders from academics to legal experts, galleries and museums to collaborate on issues that matter most to First Nations peoples.
The judges said: “The subject matter and the way it was put together is to be commended. It was clear what you wanted to achieve, and your delegate feedback clearly demonstrated that these were achieved to a high level of satisfaction.”

What a night for our team.
And we’re at the last award of the night: Australian Event of the Year. It’s a massive win for the AIATSIS Summit 2024 and organiser Spinifex Events WA. The Summit featured a range of creative content delivery, through panel sessions, interviews, workshops and educational sessions to ensure the content was engaging and conversational.
The judges said: “Weaving all of these elements into a single event is an immense challenge. Well done on an outstanding event.”
