I’ve never been in a book before this! Before I started songwriting and recording music, I had a retail shop in Maylands WA for over 11 years… in a super heritage building. .illustration was very kind to take the time to buy me a wine , have a chat, listen to my stories and put some quirky ones in her book.

I was 24 when I opened my shop in Maylands, moving to expand what I’d started at 22.

It was never easy but there were a lot of good times. Many I’d forgotten about till we had this chat …

Deb’s book is wonderful. Filled with stories of the many buildings of perth including the Maylands precinct where I had my shop.

The book launch on the weekend was buzzing, packed turnout. Great to see such support for local artistry.

If you had the time, what would you create ?

If money was more freely available and time was plentiful what would you do?

Is time a tool or a poison?

Do you fill the space with something good or find yourself uncomfortable in the empty space feeling lost and alone ?
