Families, tradies and the occasional bloke who looks like he’s banned from at least one Bunnings. Always a good vibe though.

Fri Aug 28 - Portofino’s - 5-8pm
Waterfront views, plenty of Poms and the giant sports screen quietly reminding me where I sit in the entertainment hierarchy.

Sat Aug 29 - Corporate Gig
Private function. Three hours of smiling professionally at people whose names are printed on lanyards.

Sun Aug 30 - The Boat - 2-5pm
Sunday afternoon on the Mindarie marina. Beautiful boats, beautiful views, beautiful homes. Then at 5pm I pack the car and drive back to Ellenbrook to think about my choices.

Families, tradies, a few suspicious-looking characters, and somehow everyone gets along. It's like a social experiment that's been running successfully for years.

Fri Jun 5 - Indian Ocean Brewing Co. - 7-10pm
Nice spot in Mindarie. Good food, good crowd, and enough boat owners in the room to make me wonder where I went wrong financially.

Sat Jun 6 - Valencia Bar & Grill - 5-8pm
Great food, friendly staff, and a management team that actually seems happy to be there. A surprisingly rare combination.

Sun Jun 7 - The Rose & Crown - 2-5pm
Old stone walls, big shady trees, and enough character to make most modern venues feel like airport lounges.

Thu May 28 - The Brook - 6-9pm
Families eating schnitzels next to blokes who look like they fix motorbikes with their bare hands. Somehow one of the most consistently good vibes going around.

Fri May 29 - Valencia Bar & Grill - 5-8pm
Starts classy, ends loud. Couples, families, bus tours, and at least one table behaving like the beer garden’s on a Contiki tour by 7:15.

Sat May 30 - The Kingsley - 6-9pm
Suburban pub energy. A few quiet tables, a few big personalities, and someone confidently requesting a song they definitely won’t recognise once I start playing it.

Sun May 31 - Portofino’s - 4-7pm
Big sports screen, waterfront crowd, and enough passionate Poms to make every goal feel like a national emergency. I’ll be somewhere underneath all that trying to finish Wonderwall.

Absolute mixed bag. Families having dinner next to blokes who look like they’ve just walked out of a court appearance. Somehow it works. It always works.

Fri Apr 10 - Quinns Rocks Sports Club - 6:30-9:30pm
Everyone’s here for the roast and the meat raffle. Dance floor opens briefly like a government program, a few textbook moves get rolled out, then it’s shut down by 8:45.

Sat Apr 11 - Valencia Bar & Grill - 5-8pm
Couples, families, and the occasional busload of chaos. Looks like a relaxed beer garden until the bus rolls in and suddenly you’re playing over 17 conversations and a birthday cake.

Sun Apr 12 - Portofino’s - 5-8pm
Great spot. Big screen pumping sport, plenty of Poms, and I’m doing my best to compete with whatever’s happening in the 18-yard box.

Beachside set. Good food, nice crowd, and a rotating cast of kids treating the area in front of me like a racetrack.

Sun Apr 5 - The Boat, Mindarie - 2-5pm
Great waterfront views, expensive boats, and a gentle reminder that I don’t live anywhere near here.

Cyclone pending. Classy setting, strong drinks, and me keeping one eye on the sky and one on the capo.

Sun Mar 29 - The Woodvale - 3:30-6:30pm
Front beer garden setup. Smokers left, non-smokers right, and me positioned right at the entrance like I’m soundtracking arrivals and departures.

Golf resort calm. Soft lighting, relaxed crowd, and me trying to keep dinner music from turning into pub rock.

Sat Jan 24 - Valencia Bar & Grill - 5-8pm
Valencia’s turning into a full house most weekends. Beer garden vibes, solid crowd, and just enough background noise to keep me guessing what key I’m in.

Sun Jan 25 - The Woodvale - 3:30-6:30pm
Usually a solid front beer garden crowd - the kind of gig where the pints flow, the sun’s out, and someone starts dancing halfway through their own meal.
