At KARLA, our menu is grounded in the use of premium Australian produce, interpreted through the lens of modern Asian flavours.
Our Hiramasa Kingfish is filleted in-house and delicately sliced fresh each day. It’s then served as our sashimi with truffle soy, konbu, shiso, finger lime and a pinch of fresh chilli. It’s a dish that balances delicacy, brightness and depth in equal measure - and one of our long-standing favourites.

THE ART OF VEGAN DINING III 🔥
We’re back for the third instalment of our vegan evening, where we showcase seasonal vegetables through the lens of modern, Asian culinary techniques. Cooked over our signature wood-fired grill, the menu celebrates the natural essence, flavours and unknown complexities of vegan dishes.
This time, with Head Chef Kya at the helm, diners will settle into a menu including cauliflower karaage, tofu san choy bow and sesame-glazed eggplant. Each dish will again demonstrate unique flavour profiles that push the boundaries of vegan cuisine, all while honouring the simplicity of the ingredients.

Kya has been part of the Stories journey since day one, helping shape the award-winning kitchen, culture and standards that have firmly placed KARLA on the Perth dining scene.
From her early years on her family’s chicken farms in Thailand, to Melbourne’s vibrant dining scene - before relocating to Perth to open Stories alongside her husband, Executive Chef Ben Pienprasop - Kya’s journey has been steady, humble and seriously hard-earned. Now, she steps forward to lead the very kitchen she helped elevate to industry acclaim.
