🎉 🎉 Cool Treats for Our Local Community at Currambine Primary School

Last Friday, we joined the children and P&C from Currambine Primary School to enjoy a cool treat to wrap up the week. We were thrilled to team up with the school for their recent fundraiser, with Atlantis Group donating over 700 icy poles for the students to enjoy.

Seeing all those big smiles (and bright blue tongues!) made it an absolute highlight for our team.

A massive thank you to the educators from Ocean Keys and Courtney from the P&C Team, who helped organize the day and pull off such a smooth event. We are so proud to support our local school community! 💙

Our weekly sessions with Nutmegz bring so much joy and excitement to the children! 🌿 The children develop valuable skills and knowledge around sustainability through fun, hands-on experiences that connect them with nature and their community.

During our latest session, the children created their very own eco-friendly cleaning spray from scratch, using natural ingredients. To celebrate the Noongar season of Djilba, the children explored beautiful natural scents and colours while creating a spray they could be proud to make themselves. These experiences provide meaningful opportunities for children to learn about caring for our environment while celebrating and connecting with Noongar culture. 🌱

Dental Health Week

Last week, we celebrated Dental Health Week across our centre, providing children with a range of fun and engaging experiences focused on caring for our teeth and developing healthy oral hygiene habits.

The children explored dental health through hands-on experiences, stories, discussions, dramatic play and brushing activities. Educators supported the children to learn about why we brush our teeth, how to brush them properly, the importance of visiting the dentist and how the foods we eat can help keep our teeth strong and healthy.

For our younger children, experiences focused on exploring toothbrushes, practising brushing through play and becoming familiar with dental care. Our older children extended their learning through conversations about healthy food choices, the role of dentists and how they can take responsibility for caring for their own teeth.

Celebrating Dental Health Week provided a wonderful opportunity to make learning about oral health positive, engaging and meaningful, while supporting children to develop healthy habits that can continue as they grow.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

Our Babies Room has been enjoying the much loved story 'We’re Going on a Bear Hunt' and today extended their learning through a fun sensory walking experience.

Inspired by the different environments in the story, the children used their feet to explore a variety of textures representing the long wavy grass, a deep cold river, thick oozy mud, a big dark forest and a swirling snowstorm.

As the children made their way along the sensory walk, they were encouraged to feel, explore and discover each new texture. Some stepped straight in with confidence, while others took their time to investigate, creating lots of wonderful opportunities for sensory exploration, movement and curiosity.

Bringing a familiar story to life through hands-on play supports our babies to make connections between books and their experiences, while developing their sensory awareness, gross motor skills and confidence to explore the world around them.

Smiles & Discovery in the Nursery!🥰✨

What a busy and fun-filled month it has been in our Nursery! Our little learners have been busy exploring, discovering and building new skills through lots of hands-on play and meaningful learning experiences.

From getting messy and curious during sensory play, to making sounds and music with musical instruments, our babies have been using their senses to explore the world around them.

There has also been plenty of movement! Through physical and ball play, the children have been developing their coordination, balance and confidence as they practise moving their bodies in new and exciting ways.

Every experience brings opportunities to explore, connect, learn and grow, and we have loved seeing all the smiles, giggles and wonderful little moments of discovery along the way!

Today we are celebrating Sarah’s 5th work anniversary with Atlantis Ocean Keys OSHC!

Managing a fantastic OSHC program takes passion, enthusiasm, and deep care for the community—and Sarah brings all three every day. Thank you for your incredible commitment to supporting our educators, driving our programs forward, and building such trusting relationships with our school families.

This week, we headed to our local Containers for Change WA to return our cans and bottles! ♻️ The children loved being involved in this hands-on experience and seeing how even small actions can make a big difference for our environment.

Our weekly Tuesday community excursions give the children the opportunity to explore their local area, build connections with familiar faces in the community, and learn about the importance of sustainability and caring for the world around them. We love watching their confidence and sense of responsibility grow with each visit!
