FREE WORKSHOP: ENDURING POWER OF ATTORNEY AND GUARDIANSHIP

Planning for the future can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to legal decisions. Join the team from Encompass Legal Aid for a free, informative workshop on Enduring Power of Attorney and Guardianship. This session will help demystify the process and provide practical guidance on how to communicate and document your wishes for the future. It is ideal for older adults who want to understand their options and maintain control over future decision-making, as well as family members supporting ageing parents and loved ones. Bring your questions and learn from the experts in a friendly, supportive environment.

With the sun shining and spirits high, it was a wonderful morning filled with laughter and stories. Many attendees were former students of Eden Hill Primary School and enjoyed sharing memories of their school days, the mischief they got up to in class and seeing how the area has changed over the years.

A huge thank you to our stellar volunteer guide, Chris, who, as always, led the tour with professionalism, enthusiasm, and an impressive depth of knowledge about the history of Eden Hill. Her passion for local history helps bring these stories to life and makes every walk a special experience.

Do-It-Yourself Home Energy Audits are now available to borrow at Bassendean Library. Each energy audit kit includes:
Home Energy Audit Kit
A thermal imaging camera to help you locate draughts around your home and gaps in insulation, for checking fridge seals, and measuring hot water temperature.
A plug-in energy monitor for measuring energy consumption and the running costs of appliances.
A basin flow measuring cup to determine the water flow rate of your taps
A thermometer for measuring the temperature of rooms, fridges and freezers.
An instructional manual which explains how to conduct a variety of tests, tips to reduce your energy and water use, instructions on how to use the equipment and safety information.

Free in-person and online workshops on reducing energy use, solar panels, electric vehicles and more.

Have you ever wondered about the stories behind the names of Ivanhoe, Iolanthe and Ida Streets? Join our knowledgeable guide, Chris, for a fascinating walk through the history of Eden Hill. Explore how the suburb evolved over time as we chat about Eden Hill, Jubilee Reserve, Eden Hill Primary School, and Mary Crescent Reserve, a registered Aboriginal site with significant cultural and historical importance. Along the way, discover the people, places and events that helped shape the community we know today.

📅 When: Thursday 1st October, from 10:00am–1:00pm

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who: All ages event. Children under 16 attending a guided walk must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please, no pets.

📍 Meeting point: Meet outside the Stan Moses Pavilion car park on Robinson Road, Jubilee Reserve, at 9.45am.

🚨SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMS JUST DROPPED!🚨

Blue Butterfly Bubble tea workshop with Nami Osaki

Come and join Japanese artist/ Food creator Nami Osaki from Nami's Art Room for her Blue Butterfly Bubble Tea Workshop!

Nami will teach you how to make fresh boba (tapioca balls) from scratch with natural fruit and blue lemonade (as "tea") from blue butterfly pea flowers. Everything is healthy, natural and super delicious.

**PLEASE NOTE** All participants are required to bring the following items on the day - tea towel, drinking glass (500ml jar with a lid is the best option!) and a straw.

Ingredients include lemon, sugar, tapioca flour, lemon cordial, blue butterfly flower and water. Please ensure your children are not allergic to any of these items.
