The upfront cost of hiring a professional seems higher.

The cost of a failed DIY project is often greater.

You pay for ineffective materials. You pay for the time spent installing them. You pay for the damage they cause when you try to remove them. Then you pay for a professional to do it correctly.

Professionals use tested systems with guaranteed STC ratings. We don't guess. We engineer a solution that targets the specific noise source. At Quash, we deliver soundproofing that actually works.

Noisy equipment and residential neighbours don't have to be a problem if you handle it the right way.

In this video, Quash founder Nigel Reid explains how a custom acoustic enclosure, built with acoustic panels and door seals, contains noise at the source and protects the neighbourhood around it.

Whether it's a generator, compressor, or any other piece of equipment creating noise spill, the right enclosure makes the difference between ongoing complaints and a business that operates without disruption.

Nigel has been solving noise problems like this for years. Watch the video to hear how it works straight from the expert himself.

Effective noise control relies on four principles: Mass, Damping, Decoupling, and Absorption.

Mass adds heavy materials, making it harder for sound to vibrate the wall. Decoupling mechanically separates the wall from the structure, preventing vibrations from travelling. Damping uses compounds that convert sound vibration into heat. Airtightness ensures a hermetic seal so airborne sound can't leak through.

A professional solution integrates all these elements based on the specific frequency of the noise you're fighting. It's engineered. It's tested. It works.

Sound on for this one, because you need to hear the difference.

Before Quash: Swan Christian College's space had a significant echo problem. Sound bouncing off hard surfaces made the room reverberant and disruptive, exactly the kind of acoustic environment that makes it harder for students to concentrate and teachers to be heard clearly.

After Quash: 50mm Quiet Space acoustic ceiling panels installed.
Reverberation reduced. The room transformed.

This is what the right acoustic solution does. It creates a space where learning can actually happen without the room getting in the way.

True soundproofing requires precision. Small installation mistakes can lead to total system failure.

Resilient channels have a 90% failure rate in DIY installs. One screw too long creates a bridge for vibration. The entire wall becomes useless.

Sound is like water. It finds the path of least resistance. Gaps around power points, switch boxes, or vents let noise flank around your soundproofing. Adding plasterboard without proper damping can create resonance that amplifies bass sounds.

The internet loves a cheap fix. Unfortunately, physics doesn't offer discounts.

Egg cartons? Lightweight and porous. Virtually no mass to block noise. They're rubbish.

Carpets and curtains? They reduce echo. They don't prevent sound from passing through walls or windows.

"Soundproof" paint? A millimetre-thick coating cannot block the same energy as plasterboard or mass-loaded vinyl. It's physically impossible.
Save this post before you waste money on internet hacks.

The difference a ceiling can make.

Before: excess reverberation making the space loud, echoey, and harder to enjoy.

After: custom acoustic ceiling panels installed by Quash Soundproofing, and the atmosphere completely transformed.

We partnered with Palace Hotel Wagin to design and install a ceiling panel solution that reduces noise, improves speech clarity, and creates the kind of comfortable, inviting environment that keeps guests coming back.

Because great hospitality deserves great acoustics.

You've had enough of the noise.

The neighbour's music through the wall. Traffic rumbling past your window. So you search online, find acoustic foam panels, stick them up, and wait for the silence.

Nothing changes. The noise is still there.

Acoustic foam absorbs echoes in a room. It doesn't stop sound from travelling through walls. Foam is lightweight with no mass. Sound waves pass straight through it. To actually block noise, you need heavy, dense materials that physically obstruct the energy of the sound wave.
Tag someone who needs to hear this before they waste their money.

Not every professional office looks like a corporate fitout and that's exactly the point.

This client needed her office space to work harder acoustically.

Reverberation was making meetings difficult to follow, sound was carrying further than it should, and with her baby often in the room, a calm and controlled acoustic environment mattered more than ever.

Quash designed and installed a custom acoustic panel solution tailored to her space reducing reverberation, improving speech clarity, and containing sound within the room.

Now her meetings are clear, her conversations are private, and her office sounds exactly like the professional environment it is.

Standard enclosures work for standard equipment.

Complex machinery needs a different approach. The rock crusher with four conveyor belts. The hydraulic press with operator access panels. The production line where material flows continuously.

If you cut holes in a standard enclosure for conveyors and access, the sound leaks out. Custom engineering means acoustic tunnels, sectional enclosures designed around your workflow, and materials that fit tight spaces where rigid panels won't work.

At Quash, we use closed-cell polyethylene foam for harsh environments. It's washable, chemical-resistant, and doesn't shed fibres.

Custom soundproofing means understanding your machinery, your workflow, and your constraints.

You walk onto the plant floor and the noise hits you.

Generators, conveyors, hydraulic presses, grinding wheels. It's everywhere. It's overwhelming.

Where do you start?

Start with data. A proper noise audit maps your facility, identifies the loudest zones, and measures worker exposure. It tells you where you're over 85 dBA and which machines are the worst offenders.

Site-wide noise reduction means starting smart. Audit first. Tackle the worst offenders. Build a plan that balances cost, impact, and compliance.
