New playground alert in Mount Pleasant 🤍
The fences are down at this gorgeous egret-themed playground along The Esplanade near the Canning Hwy Bridge and it’s such a sweet little stop for families. Think soft sand play, a statement bird swing and climbing structure — simple but super inviting for younger kids.
There’s street parking along The Esplanade and while there are no toilets, it’s a great quick stop if you’re out for a river walk or need to keep the kids busy for a bit.
Even better? Grab a coffee from one of the nearby cafes and actually drink it while it’s still hot 🙌

Looking for an easy family day out near Perth? 👀
We recently tried the Dolphin, Sea Lion & Penguin Island Wildlife Cruise in Rockingham—and even without spotting dolphins, it was still such a great experience 🙌
🐬 No dolphins for us this time (they are wild after all!)
🦭 Sea lions were stretched out along the beach at Seal Island
🦅 We even spotted a whistling kite eagle
🌿 The guides were AMAZING—so informative, sharing everything from osprey nests to seal colonies along the WA coast
🐧 Penguin Island was a highlight, with really interesting (and slightly wild!) history and conservation info
The boat is enclosed with indoor seating (seats around 70), so it’s a super comfortable option year-round—especially with kids. Plenty of fresh air if you get sea-sick
It’s one of those easy, low-stress outings that still feels really worthwhile 💙 Perfect if you’re after something relaxed, educational and close to Perth.
📍 Rockingham Foreshore

Have you done this cruise before?
Would you still go if you didn’t see dolphins? 👇

There’s plenty to explore, with areas like Raptor Valley, the Hatchery and hands-on activities throughout.
Our favourite was watching our colouring come to life—such a fun interactive touch the kids loved.
🍕 Food options are available on-site and the pizzas were delicious.

❤️💛 RED & YELLOW DAY ❤️💛
Supporting Surf Life Saving Australia
My boys and I have been patrolling with Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club for around 10 years.
What started with Matt joining Nippers completing his SRC & then Bronze Medallion, quickly became a family affair.
I earned my Bronze Medallion in 2017, Josh followed along too, and before we knew it, patrol days became part of our lifestyle — not just a commitment, but something we genuinely love being part of.
Over the years we’ve made incredible friendships, supported countless community events, and helped keep our coastline safe — from Woodman Point right through to Port Coogee. There’s something pretty special about standing on patrol, looking out over that beautiful stretch of coast, knowing you’re part of a team dedicated to keeping everyone safe.
Surf lifesavers are volunteers. Our surf clubs rely heavily on donations and grants to keep members trained, equipped and rescue-ready.
Today we wear red & yellow with pride ❤️💛
If you can, show your support — whether that’s a donation, a thank you, or simply learning more about the amazing work surf lifesavers do in our community.
Check it out!! Just one week to go until The Pavilion at the WACA is open to the general public.
