When Old Testament Lecturer David Kummerow finished high school, he didn’t continue other study at first, instead working on his parents’ farm in Queensland and driving trucks. But throughout his life David has been open to God’s plans, and has followed both opportunities and needs placed before him, which has led him to teaching at Trinity Theological College in Perth.

When Ryan began his studies at Trinity, he was eager to get into biblical languages. After trying for a while himself and being unsuccessful, he has found that having lecturers who have done the hard work on these languages themselves has made all the difference.

Now, Ryan deeply enjoys reading the Bible in its original languages and sees the connections more clearly. “The languages are so important for cutting through a lot of stuff that is said that isn’t helpful or true.”

Our students spur one another on in faith and love. This takes place through face-to-face classes, pastoral care groups, community lunches, chapel and serving on mission together.

These interpersonal relationships are important as we seek to digest the riches of God’s Word taught in the classroom, work out how it applies to our lives and ministries, and share one another’s joys and struggles. These relationships often continue long after graduation.
